If you haven't heard, Catherine Crier's show has not been renewed by Court TV, so she is leaving the network. But not before getting in a few digs.
In a speech to lawyers in Florida, Crier says she is sad to hear that Court TV (which is changing its name, by the way) is no longer going to cover trials on TV. It will be a web-only feature. Instead, the network is changing its entire lineup, and Crier says it will be "a lot of explosions, a lot of car chases, a lot of cops, a lot of beach babes."
I'm surprised that the network is getting rid of their trial coverage, since it was one of the features that really made their network stand out from anyone else.

Court TV stood out because of the trial coverage. Now it may encounter the same fate that other niche cable networks have. Who can tell the difference between A&E, TLC, Bravo, etc. anymore?
I always wondered why Court TV didn't air court coverage and analysis in primetime. I work during the day so don't oftern have the chance to view the trial coverage in the daytime. I did get home in time to view Catherine's show and will miss it. Once Court TV changes to its new identity, I won't be tuning in becaue it just doesn't appeal to me.

I really liked Catherine Crier's show on Court TV, she was the only voice of reason on that network nowadays (especially now that they got rid of her for Star Jones! and yes, Nancy Grace is still on the network as well.)
I really enjoyed Court TV's trial coverages and their forensic science and investigated shows, so it's very sad to see Court TV to turn into, essentially, another Spike TV..."a lot of explosions, a lot of car chases, a lot of cops, a lot of beach babes."
But hey, those shows get ratings and Ashton Kutcher talked about his love for those shows as well, so I guess it's more important to please that demo.

I am disappointed the Court TV show will be cancelled. I enjoyed Catherine Crier she is so caring and sincere about what she does. I am a teacher and this show was like a treat for me when I come home for work. This network station was informative and kept me current on issues and topics concerning law. I always wanted to be a lawyer. Now for me and current law students what do we have to look forward to in the future.

What was Court TV thinking when they made the choice to cancel Catherine Crier Live? To replace her with Star Jones is an insult not only to Catherine but to her viewers as well. Good thing we have freedom of choice as I have chosen to never tune into your network again.

oh great add one more crappy stunted development network aimed a developmentally arrested juvie pimpled males. what a sack of crap CTV has become.
If MSNBC had ANY sense they would grab CRIER and the best of the top reporters on this once great public service network before Turner turned it into a huge heaping pile of steaming crap.
Hope CTV dies a fast debt-loaded death.
CATHERINE CRIER WILL BE MISSED!

I am sickened that Catherine Crier was cancelled. That was one of my favorite shows on CourtTv. Luckily, I work weekends and get much of the weekday off. I watch CourtTV EVERYDAY for the trials. My favorite shows are Bloom and Politan--Nancy Grace (when she is there)...and CATHERINE CRIER. She always did the wrap-up for headlines. Is CourtTV out of their friggen mind? Getting rid of Crier --in order to replace her with Star Jones? AMERICA HATES STAR JONES! That is why she was fired from the View and from E!'s red carpet. Nobody likes her or will watch her.
Who was the idiot who made this decision? He SHOULD be the one getting fired. And the whole point of CourtTV is watching the trials... I can not believe they are going to only do that via their website now. The shows they have on at night are horrible. Who wants to watch "Psychic Detectives", "Forensic Files" --when you have the QUALITY programs with great narrators on A&E to watch---" City Confidential, Justice Files and Cold Case Files. CourtTVs replicas of those shows are like Grade Z level. They have always been my favorite channel and I am completely disgusted with them now.

I can't believe how short sighted court tv shows itself to be by cancelling Catherine Crier. I looked forward to her show every day and especially enjoyed her commentaries. She is right on the mark. I guess most of the men in charge just couldn't stand that! Anyway, I am trying to find what channel she is on now - if you can find it in your miserable heart to let me know, I would appreciate it.

I am shocked regarding the change of Catherine Crier and now Nancy Grace wants out. I turned on to Catherine at 5pm and something else has taken her place. There were no warnings about her departure and I looked forward watchig her and Court TV everyday while I work at home.
Bad decision! I have just been indirectly involved in a trial for my brother-in-laws murder. It was horrible waiting months and months with many discontinuences and finally after 2 years his murderer was sent to jail. I want to understand why these people being convicted for their horrible crimes and what drives them to do these unspeakable acts. Perhaps we can better understand mental illness and society and how to treat mental illness and other forms of violence better by atching these show.

Catherine Crier was the best for the last program wrap up for the day of trial. After waiting for the trial of the record mogul, now, we won't see it!! Catherine was the true sound of sense, and always had the answers we always wanted to know. We don't need more of detective shows=enough already! Star Jones? not many people's cup of tea!! No longer a viewer of your channel.

I really in complete shock about the decision to cancel Catherine Crier Live. It absolutely was the best program on TV. I looked forward to her program every single day. Yes, I do like their other programming but this was by far the best show in their line-up. It was balanced and intelligent coverage of the day's events and Catherine Crier Live will be greatly missed. Any network who picks her up will have a very loyal following. Court TV has such a negative connotation to me now.
Are the executives that out of touch with what people want to see and hear? Adding Star Jones to their network was the first warning sign of the decline of this network.

Commercial and other enterprises operate at the pleasure of society. They must act responsibly in its interest. When privileges to operate freely by the public are abused, the public has a right to curtail or otherwise change the contract that has been granted. There is no god-given right to public access by anyone.
The Catherine Crier programing was a shinning star in a gigantic maze of kitsch. Court TV has demonstrated that it is not operating in the public interest. It is clear to me, as it must be to other discriminating viewers, that the time has come for the public to require the allotment of television programing for all viewers rather than just the dim witted and brain dead.

I am shocked and saddened. Catherine Crier was a great program. After reading through the e-mails I discover that there will be no more trial coverage. There is absolutely no reason to watch this channel any longer. Run Nancy Grace, run!

I can't believe that Catherine Crier is canceled. I wondered what was going on when I didn't see her this week and no one mentioned that it wouldn't be on. I am very disappointed that she is gone. I don't understand why they would take a good, solid show such as hers of the air. It's beyond reason. What are they thinking? What's going on with Courttv? I read in the other posts that the name is changing, the other programs that are on, won't be. What happened? Who did this?
These programs were all great! Star Jones.......what has she to do with this station? It's incredulous that Crier is being replaced with an unknown.
I will not watch Courttv or whatever they are going to call it. This is too much. Everything was really great the way it was. Who wants to see anymore of those car chases and naked women. Enough is enough!! You guys are insane that are changing this! You will go down the tubes quickly.

I TiVo'ed Catherine's program every day. There is nothing out there to replace it. Her commentary was thought-provoking, insightful, always respectful, and eloquent. I think she is terrific.
I will keep searching the web to find out where she lands next, and I will follow.
When I heard that Catherine Crier was out and Starr Jones was in, I knew that Court TV was done.
