There's going to be a shake-up with the cast of CSI this season because a certain long-time cast member can't come to a contract agreement with CBS. That's all I'm going to say before the jump.If you don't want the CSI season finale spoiled, stop reading now. There's no way to report this story without spoiling, so consider this your warning.
*SPOILERS AFTER THE JUMP*
Okay, here's the deal: Jorja Fox's character (Sarah Sidle) is supposedly going to be killed off during the season finale of CSI later this month. As Sidle is not a particularly well-liked character, I don't think too many viewers will be upset. Of course, it'll be great fodder for Gil Grissom's character, who has been in a romantic relationship with Sidle since last season.
Here's the problem. According to the New York Post, Jorja Fox isn't happy about her character getting killed. So she has refused to show up to film her death scene. She is in a contract dispute with the network over salary (surprise, surprise), and the network's solution is to cut her loose. Fox's refusal to shoot her death scene, where she's crushed by a car, has resulted in last-minute rewrites of the finale and re-shoots to accomodate them. That's costing CBS a whole pile of money and you can bet the network is pretty pissed off at Jorja right now. According to Jorja's rep, her future on CSI is still "up in the air".
[Thanks, Fullman!]

If that's true, I hope she doesn't get another job so easily. That's about the most unprofessional an actor can get.

I gotta admit that that is pretty funny. Imagine an actress thinking she can hold off her characters death by refusing to shoot the scene.
Like they wouldn't just have the CSI's discover her burned corpse or one whose face was crushed beyond recognition when they found it.

gI say give her the full South Park Chef treatment. Brainwashed into a pedophile, thrown into a gorge, face torn off and disemboweled by cougars.

Remember that old episode of ER where they rang a student doctor, and then the patient they were trying to saves phone went off and they realised he was the student doctor?
They should do that where the corpse is unrecognisable and nobody can get hold of Sara, and then 1/2 way through the episode they realise it's Sara

That's just lame. "I won't film the scene", ok then what will happen is you will die a more gorish death. All this will do is lead to CBS wanting her to die even more. Look at Sliders when the killed the professor. Fox president hated him so much that he was shot, had his brain eaten and the planet exploded. CBS should do something like that, minus the planet blowing up.
And he future is still up in the air? haha Love the spokespeople! Unless her boby is hanging from a tree she isn't up anywhere.

I have always liked Jorja Fox and her character. I personally hope they do not kill her off - will be very disappointed. Think they should kill off Marge.

Good riddance. I have never liked Sara. Her voice and vocal delivery grate on my nerves. Please make her the miniature killer!

I am not sure it is professional on Fox's part but it isn't hard to understand that she was trying to negotiate a new contract and they obviously reacted out of spite and decided to kill her off in the finale. This certainly put a hard and artificial deadline to their contract talks. They easily could have put her in peril in the finale and then depending on the outcome of negotiations, save her or kill her at the beginning of next season.
With today's CGI and digitization, do they really even need her for a death scene filming anyway?

I already don't like her character - sounds like the real person it's a peach to have around either.
Good Riddance Sidle!

Refusing to shoot her death scene is all the more reason this actress and her character needs to be dumped. She's a grandstander and the show will be better off without her.

Wasn't she one of the ones who was fired for not showing up for filming at the beginning of the season to due trying to hold out for more money? And then they finally either relented or she gave in and was unfired... along with one of the male characters? This seems like Deja Vu. Maybe it is good she's getting off the show if she keeps trying to pull crap like this thinking she's some big star.

Her demise, however they choose to present it, will be no loss to the show. She is a very un-sexy actress making an attempt at a love interest role, and that voice. I certainly won't be missing her. Perhaps Fox's exit will lead to Louise Lombard getting more juicier roles.

"As Sidle is not a particularly well-liked character" - Unlike some of the people posting on here - Sara ROCKS - she is hot and she does her role very professionally. CBS is making a TON of money off of the show and they should be giving her and the rest of them a raise. To Kill Sara off is going to hurt the show in the long run, not improve it.
Please save SARA!!!!

I don't know. You have to keep in mind that this is the 7th year and usually actors get pretty tired playing a role for that long. Anyway this way or the other I wonder how well CSI will work without Fox. I guess just as good as CSI: Miami is doing after a character died - they are doing really really well.

I'm glad they are getting rid of her character. I hated her an Grissom together, I never thought they had any chemistry. Plus, she was very annoying and kind of hard to look at.
I wonder who they will get to replace her? They need to hire another woman, otherwise Katherine will be the only one on the show.

Katherine isn't the only woman on the show, but she does have the biggest woman role if Sara were to die. Other than her there is the CSI that took over Greg's job and the Officer(can't think of their names), and the other CSI could easily take over her job, but she hasn't been there long enough to start field work. I personally don't like Sara, but I don't think I want to see her die(especially by a lame car crash), make it an intriguing death if they could(like the Miniature Killer or some other psycho goes after her)

I actually thought I was the only one who didn't care for her. Well I am surprised. I say just have her not show up to work one day, that is what they do when a actor really dies or is too sick to come back to work. It happens all of the time . Freddie Prinz killing himself while Chico and the man was a hit show. Redd Foxx dropping dead on the set of his tv show. John Ritter on his last show. They usually have some excuse for their absense and then go on with the show.
With Fox they can mention a few weeks later that it was terrible that she had that car accident on her to work , morn for a few minutes have Grissom drink himself into a stupor and that will the end Miss Fox.

That would be a great couple. Grissom and Lady Heather. Grissom and Sara is dull, I mean you could tell they might get together in the early seasons, but now that they are...blah. Lady Heather would make his perfect match, or unperfect yet still be perfect for the story.
