NBC has been running some strange promos lately for the upcoming season finale of Scrubs. The promos refer to this month's episodes as "the final episodes" and "just four episodes left". Variety is quoting NBC "insiders" who are saying the promos are intentionally vague because the future of the comedy series is still up in the air. Basically, if NBC doesn't find anything it considers "better", then it'll give Scrubs another season. Ouch. That hurts. If it's the end for Scrubs, that's news to Zach Braff and the gang. Zach recently posted on his website that he hopes Scrubs gets at least one more year because A) this month's finale is a cliffhanger of sorts and B) he signed on to another year (for a lot of money, which is one reason why NBC isn't sure it wants another season).
I think Scrubs deserves NBC's respect to at least let them finish out their six year run with a complete finale, not a cliffhanger. I'd honestly be happy with half a season next year, because the series really felt like it fizzled this season. And, considering NBC's luck lately, it should be happy that Scrubs consistently brings in an audience, even if it's not the most popular show on television. We'll find out on May 15th when NBC premieres its new fall schedule.

I say good riddance to Scrubs. I was a big fan of the show, and if there's one thing that syndication brought, it's the confirmation that Scrubs is no where near the show it used to be.
However, if NBC cancels the show with a cliffhanger (more baby drama, I'm sure - great) I can't see ABC passing on the chance to air at least a half-season to tie things up.

ABC and the producers have already said that if NBC doesn't pick it up, they will.

NBC has been saying "the final four episodes" for Heroes too, and you KNOW that's not going away. Fox did the same thing for Prison Break, and I think I've heard that for another non-cancelled show too.
Chances are they're just doing like they've been doing for the past 3 years and treating the show like a neglected stepchild: They'll take their sweet time, and renew if it's not too inconvenient.
Gee, I wonder why network ratings are going down across the board ...

I just hope ABC will really pick Scrubs if NBC decides not to. I would be definitely disappointed if the show would get cancelled and we don't get to see a finale.
And I'd be even more disappointed if the reason behind its cancellation was Zach Braff new expensive deal!

Scrubs used to be one of the funniest shows on TV in its first couple of seasons. This season has been nigh unwatchable. Not that it's horrible, it's just that watching it reminds me of the good old days when it was so much better. I'd be pretty happy with the network putting it down at this point. Although if it got picked up by a different network, changed direction, maybe picked up some new writers, I'd probably watch it.

It's still not a bad show by any means...always guarantees a few laughs.
I would have been fine with Scrubs getting canned if it was replaced by Andy Barker PI, but Barker was canceled too...

This show isn't over, it may be over for NBC, but it isn't over by any means.
The DVD sales and syndication ratings prove that -- even if it doesn't get immediete ratings -- the show will give back financially. Since ABC owns the show NBC is less reluctant to advertise it to the masses, thus throwing away what may be the funniest show of the decade.
True the show has been down this season but I have to believe that the writers can go all out this season like they did last year. I think that they were so busy trying to write a script that worked with him staying or going that they weren't able to do the job to the best of their abilities. They have had some great episodes this year though, "My Musical", "My Long Goodbye", and the opening sequence to Laverne's funeral was one of the top two or three in the show's history.
Let's hope that this final season really ets back on track and gives it the final salute that it richley deserves.

ABC will not pick up the show, mark my words.
And 6 seasons is a good run.

NBC says "Just 3 episodes left" for Heroes too and that's definitely coming back. But I sure hope that they kill scrubs. Egad what an awful show. Even the music that tells you to be happy makes me want to kill children and eat their shoes.
