"Clusterfuck to the White House": Wow. Did Jon really make a Weakest Link joke? Really? Anyway, the Democratic debate was on Thursday and all the candidates were in fine form... Sort of. Senior Political Analyst Samantha Bee stopped by to talk about a few of the candidates' possible transformations on the way to the White House. I definitely shuddered at the picture of Bill Clinton with Hillary's body. It is what you see before you die."Crisis in Sudan (brought to you by BubbleYum)": The trend of having a single product or company sponsor a night newscast is gaining popularity again. This segment was brought to us by BubbleYum... not those flavorless Juicy Fruit bastards. Senior Genocide Correspondent John Oliver, Senior Africa Correspondent Aasif Mandvi, and Senior Political Analyst Rob Riggle each briefly reported on Sudan and made up for the lack of correspondents in the previous episode.
The night's guest was Christopher Hitchens, author of God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. I suppose the content of the interview was pretty interesting, but I was more amused by how wonderful of a character Hitchens was. Way to show of that chest hair, guy. Sheesh. Also, I wasn't totally sure if Hitchens was annoyed by Jon or if he's one of those people that just looks unaffected all the time. Hmm.
Jon/Stephen: Stephen Colbert could have moderated the hell out of the Democratic debate. Moment of Zen: Mmm. Smoking.

I didn't really like the Hitchens interview, since he was pushing a book. . . and didn't really persuade me that it was interesting. I checked it out on Amazon, looked interesting enough for $15, and bought it.
Also... Neil deGrasse Tyson on Colbert was great. We need more astrophysicists.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am getting sick of the giant head of ______ gag (usually Brian Williams, but also Robert Loggia). It was slightly entertaining at first wondering why Williams would participate in such a silly stunt, but their dialogues have never been funny.

I know who should be the next giant head: Bill Moyers! He asked Stewart what job they would give him, and this would be a nice change from Williams, imo.
