(S11E12) Next week is the season finale and I'm thankful for that. This has been my least favorite season of The Amazing Race (I didn't watch the family season). For the most part, the drama has been in the airports with teams constantly vying for the best flights. The challenges, for the most part, have been pretty lame. Very few of them have been physical and therefore have not been all that much of a victory for teams when they complete the tasks. This week's detour was an exception. The teams traveled a whopping 7,500 miles from Macau to Guam. There, only one team (Charla & Mirna) chose the challenge that actually meant anything. They packed up supplies and got to go on a military mission to drop them. The flight looked like so much fun! Of course, their task put them in last place so the other teams were smart not to choose it.
The road block was also cool, with a combo of technology and warfare. The teams had to use GPS to find a point and then signal for a pick-up from a helicopter. They got hoisted into a helicopter at the end, which looked super fun!
Mirna is on crack: "You have to do the right accent. It makes all the difference in the world." Yeah, it works real well. Does she have any idea how much she annoys people in other countries?
[Dustin & Kandice 1] Wahoo! I want these girls to win. They smoked the competition this week by closely following directions and keeping up their positive attitudes. By the way, if anyone is keeping score at home, the girls have won 1) Scooters, 2) Jet Skis, 3) All-terrain vehicles. No trips, but who cares? They just flew thousands of miles for one straight month-- who would want to travel after this?
[Charla & Mirna 3] Okay, now we know why Mirna treats Charla like a child. I thought it was because Charla is a little person, but it turns out that Charla really doesn't listen! What did Mirna tell her as she took off? "Don't push any buttons!" I rolled my eyes when I heard that, but she was right to say it. Because Charla could not keep her hands off the buttons on the GPS unit and kept getting herself lost.
I was so glad to hear that soldier shame Mirna for being disrespectful of the supplies that she was packing. She's so disrespectful of everyone she encounters. If she'd just shut up, she would learn something.
[Oswald & Danny ELIMINATED] Oh man, Danny was so inappropriate with his comment about teletubbies, but I have to admit that I laughed pretty hard. I guess Charla deserved that after making some thoughtless comments to the military man about how she guesses they do deserve the "discounts" they get for being in the military. Anyway, Danny and Oswald were doomed from the start with the requirement that they be first or suffer a 30-minute time penalty. This episode didn't really get my heartrate up because I knew there was no way, with four teams left, there would be a 30-minute difference in arrival time.
[Eric & Danielle 2] I laughed so hard at Danielle and her complete meltdown in the field. She cannot function without Eric. While I laughed, I also felt pity for her because the girl apparently has a confidence problem. Eric's constant badgering of her doesn't really help. I really wish these two weren't part of the top three. I'd rather see Charla & Mirna win over these two.
I'm giving this episode 6 out of 7 because the tasks were somewhat more exciting than previous ones. Still, it was no surprise that Oswald and Danny were eliminated.

Don't you normally give shows a rating on this site?

I agree the blondes deserve to win this thing. They're the only team left of the three that doesn't annoy the living crap out of me.
I cannot stand Charla and Mirna...and half the reason i watch this show is to see if they'll just fall into some vortex and disappear.
I felt bad for Danielle out in the woods there, saying Eric was going to be mad at her, etc. Ugh. He treats her like shit and she just keeps taking it.
Danny and Oswald didn't seem to be motivated at all this leg. Maybe they knew there was no hope, but if they had ran, tried a little near the end they might've had a chance...o well
There's a 2/3 shot that the first all female team wins here, and for my money, I'm hopin its the ones that annoy me the least and deserve it the most

I also want the blondes to win because they are the only team that doesn't annoy the crap out of me now. If Eric and Danielle or Mirna and Charla won, I'd be pissed.
The whole "Don't push the buttons, mam" thing had me laughing for 5 minutes. That was great. Too bad it didn't get fake accent Mirna eliminated. And too bad Danielle's meltdown didn't get biggoted Eric eliminated.
I was really hoping Danny and Oswald would make it just so one of those teams could go, also because for the most part they are funny.

It wasn't just the buttons. Apparently the GPS had a touch screen as well and Charla kept touching the screen. The airman accompanying her had the patience of a saint. So must the air crew on the airplane doing the relief drop with Mirna constantly begging them to go faster!
That said, the funniest thing in the episode had to be poor Oswald stumbling about looking for the "pilot" in the search and rescue exercise who was only a few feet away from him. He only found the guy because he stood up to have a drink of water.

"only one team (Charla & Mirna) chose the challenge that actually meant anything"
I think cleaning a plane might be important. Anyhow, how difficult is throwing things in a box, then taking a plane ride. I think this should silence all the Mirna defenders who claim her accent is natural. Please! She admits she does it on purpose.
And of course the challenges are lame. How else would Charla be able to complete. The teletubbies go to war comment is still cracking me up.

I know my beloved Charla and Mirna have no chance of winning, but P3 is awesome for them. It's too bad one of those two teams of despicable low life's will win though. All in all, another great season!! But I loved the Family edition also.

I am kinda glad O&D got eliminated because now I have...
Beauty Queens - I want to win
Eric & Danielle - I want to lose
Charla & Mirna - I'm ok with them losing, but it would be fun in an odd way to see them win

I agree, Mirna and Charla's choice didn't mean anything more than the plane scrubbing option. It was stated several times that it was a training exercise not a real mission, and the supplies they dropped were clearly not the ones they packed.

I really enjoyed this episode since my husband is in the Air Force. Of course, this has its downsides as well. He pointed out that when they showed the C-17 (that Charla & Mirna were on) rise into the air, they showed a B-52 and when it was landing (loved Mirna asking them if they could go faster) it showed a C-5 (I think this is what he said). Little creative editing.

I'd love to see a "Reunion" show like Survivor has after each season. A chance for Phil to ask Mirna about those fake accents!!

I really want Dustin and Candice to win. They have great attitudes, the tackle every challenge with enthusiasm, they know that they are in a competition and they manage to look around and enjoy themselves while they are at it.

SPOILER about TAR Asia....
Dustin & Kandice could be the first "all girl-girl" team (as Kandice put it) to win the U.S. version of TAR, but they wouldn't be the first all female to win when you factor in TAR Asia. TAR All Stars was filmed from November to December last year, while TAR Asia started airing in early November last year.

I don't really mind the fake accents so much, for whatever reason, Mirna gets people to do things for her, such as the cabbie giving her the phone to call the airport for information. I don't care for the BQ's, but they definitely deserve to win, as they are clearly the best team left in the competition. Hopefully, them fracturing in the clips bodes well for M&C to win (don't like E&D)!

Amazing Race All Stars may be down to the final 3, but that doesn't matter much when the winners have already been revealed:

I cannot believe people actually want those blonds to win. Here in Canada the show continues to score massive ratings and I was really hoping Danny and oswald would survive....alas with them gone I am rooting for Charla and Mirna......The blonds are simply despicable and the other two are just not interesting or worthy of the million. I still think this has been one of the most exciting seasons ever and the crazy airport sequences have only enhanced it....its the way it should be....
