The Amazing Race All-Stars: "Oh My God, the Teletubbies Go to War"

amazing race(S11E12) Next week is the season finale and I'm thankful for that. This has been my least favorite season of The Amazing Race (I didn't watch the family season). For the most part, the drama has been in the airports with teams constantly vying for the best flights. The challenges, for the most part, have been pretty lame. Very few of them have been physical and therefore have not been all that much of a victory for teams when they complete the tasks.

This week's detour was an exception. The teams traveled a whopping 7,500 miles from Macau to Guam. There, only one team (Charla & Mirna) chose the challenge that actually meant anything. They packed up supplies and got to go on a military mission to drop them. The flight looked like so much fun! Of course, their task put them in last place so the other teams were smart not to choose it.

The road block was also cool, with a combo of technology and warfare. The teams had to use GPS to find a point and then signal for a pick-up from a helicopter. They got hoisted into a helicopter at the end, which looked super fun!

Mirna is on crack: "You have to do the right accent. It makes all the difference in the world." Yeah, it works real well. Does she have any idea how much she annoys people in other countries?

[Dustin & Kandice 1]
Wahoo! I want these girls to win. They smoked the competition this week by closely following directions and keeping up their positive attitudes. By the way, if anyone is keeping score at home, the girls have won 1) Scooters, 2) Jet Skis, 3) All-terrain vehicles. No trips, but who cares? They just flew thousands of miles for one straight month-- who would want to travel after this?

[Charla & Mirna 3] Okay, now we know why Mirna treats Charla like a child. I thought it was because Charla is a little person, but it turns out that Charla really doesn't listen! What did Mirna tell her as she took off? "Don't push any buttons!" I rolled my eyes when I heard that, but she was right to say it. Because Charla could not keep her hands off the buttons on the GPS unit and kept getting herself lost.

I was so glad to hear that soldier shame Mirna for being disrespectful of the supplies that she was packing. She's so disrespectful of everyone she encounters. If she'd just shut up, she would learn something.

[Oswald & Danny ELIMINATED] Oh man, Danny was so inappropriate with his comment about teletubbies, but I have to admit that I laughed pretty hard. I guess Charla deserved that after making some thoughtless comments to the military man about how she guesses they do deserve the "discounts" they get for being in the military. Anyway, Danny and Oswald were doomed from the start with the requirement that they be first or suffer a 30-minute time penalty. This episode didn't really get my heartrate up because I knew there was no way, with four teams left, there would be a 30-minute difference in arrival time.

[Eric & Danielle 2] I laughed so hard at Danielle and her complete meltdown in the field. She cannot function without Eric. While I laughed, I also felt pity for her because the girl apparently has a confidence problem. Eric's constant badgering of her doesn't really help. I really wish these two weren't part of the top three. I'd rather see Charla & Mirna win over these two.

6; six; ratingI'm giving this episode 6 out of 7 because the tasks were somewhat more exciting than previous ones. Still, it was no surprise that Oswald and Danny were eliminated.
