Desperate Housewives: Gossip

Mrs. McCluskey(S03E20) Oh, we are hurtling toward the finish at a frantic pace. Love it. So much happened in this episode, though, that it felt like a really long episode! But I think we are getting some things resolved. And that is nice, because I like closure. Let's talk about Edie first. When have Susan and Edie ever been friends? When Gaby asked Susan and Lynette to freeze Edie out, why would that have been a problem for Susan at all? She lives to snipe at Edie. But now, suddenly, she is Miss Forgiveness and Love. It must be a complicated relationship.

What Edie wants
Edie pulls off getting her friends back in fine fashion. But I still feel sorry for her. Wow, I think overhearing Carlos tell Gaby that nothing would ever be serious between him and Edie would have been much more devastating than overhearing those two women gossiping on their walk. But do you think Edie really loves Carlos? Is he a prize? Edie does seem to like dating her friends' ex-boyfriends. So, is this about having something that Gaby doesn't? Or do you think she just wants the security Carlos could offer her, and the relationship he has with her son? I don't think it would really matter to Edie whether she was with Carlos or Victor. I think it is more about winning something that someone else values than what she really wants.

Lynnette is getting into a deep dish...
I still can't stand that awful little girl Kayla. Did she go on vacation or something? But you have to admit: she is perceptive. She knows that something is up with Lynette and Rick. And even though she is a horrible brat in the way she is disrespectful to Lynette, she does see right through Lynette. She also has a certain, twisted kind of loyalty to Tom. I suspect that she was also just trying to set Lynette and Tom off against each other. The really scary thing is that even though she is a pretty young kid, I think I have known kids who are that precocious. This whole situation with Lynette and Rick is creepy anyway. I think Tom is perfectly justified in his suspicions and in showing up at the pizzeria unannounced. Lynette is dressing up for Rick and sneaking around and lying to Tom. Finally, Tom is showing some backbone and standing up for what is his: his wife and his restaurant.

Gaby is behaving rashly
Gaby didn't have much to do this episode. She had her little temper tantrum about Carlos, ho hum. I can't believe she proposed to Victor as a campaign strategy, just to save him from a scandal. But she hasn't said, "I do," yet. Does anybody want to take bets as to whether she will actually go through with it?

Susan's choice
I have finally just started to embrace the slapstick moments on this show, like Susan and Lynette crawling through the party with Lynette hissing, "Go ride the python!" And I have to admit, I did really laugh when Susan freaked out in the parking lot and headlocked that guy in the window. But I did have to grind my teeth through the whole court-ordered therapy scene. No therapist in the world, based on what Susan had told her, would tell her to pick one of those guys. I knew the minute Susan told Mike that it was over that she was going to end up with Mike. Thank God Ian is gone. I am sure the fact that Mike took off won't keep them apart for long.

Mrs. McClusky
Okay, I have to admit that I believe Mrs. McClusky. Although, the reason I believe her is that there was a similar plotline on an episode of CSI.

Rating 6Come back soon, Bree! I am giving tonight's episode (on a scale of 1 to 7, with 7 being the best) a:
