The great thing about celebrity death pools is that the deaths really stick. With a show like Lost, nothing is ever what it seems. The show went down the soap-opera route this week, bringing one of its characters back from the dead (or what looked like death). In true Lost fashion, there was no explanation given. Fans naturally had many questions after the episode aired, and death pool participants has even more concerns.
What does this mean for the death pool? As of right now, the points in question are being deducted. As always, the point totals reflect the events of each new episode, so it is possible that things will change as more information comes in. Read on for more specifics about the death and the new death pool standings. If you have not seen "D.O.C" or you wish to avoid discussion of further episodes, please stop reading now.
For the time being, it looks like Mikhail is alive. There's no official explanation yet, but an upcoming episode may shed light on the matter. "The Man Behind the Curtain," a Ben-centric episode, is set to air in two weeks. Andrew Divoff will be guest starring, and hopefully the mystery of his reappearance will be solved.
Only two players' scores are affected by this new development. Chris Wyant and Dennis K.'s 21 points for Mikhail's death will be deducted. The newest point totals are as follows: April and ts are tied for first place with 59 points. Chris Wyant joins the 40-point group, which includes Alex, bbf203, darciedyan, Gregory Capobianco, Holli, Hubba, jks, Kat, Kenneth Chong, Kristi Parry, Lauren, PlusDrew, Priscilla, RedStarRevolution, and Tracy. Ed W. and Michael have 38 points; BlackViking has 34.
The 21-point group includes Andrew, Brody, Craig, Diana, Don, Dustin, Gina, John S., Kris Clark, mgamark, michou2880, Morgan, nandy, Sam, Stephanie, Thomas Cushard, TuckerKatt, and TVblogger. 1L, apocalypsepony, ck, Courtney, Dorothy Evins, Heather, Julie, Kelbellene, Mrs. Mga, Nancy, RSL, Sam, Sam Fox, Shenva79, Trayton, WadeK, and Will have 19 points. Unfortunately, Dennis K joins the rest of you with zero points. Sorry, Dennis K.
Good luck for next week's episode, "The Brig"! Maybe Eko will come back!

Without an official explanation you can easily assume that the fence does not kill humans. It just causes you to have a seizure and bursts your ear drums. Remember, Mikhail did appear to be breathing after he went through the fence. Mikhails "thank you" to Locke is easy proof that he knew he wasn't going to die and that the island would heal him quick enough.

Needless to say, I'm a little bummed. But they're only toys, right? Anyway, I'm going to try to defend the Mikhail death position. When he went through the sonic fence, we heard a loud noise. It was active. Blood shot out of his ears and nose and he foamed at the mouth. He then collapsed. I contend that the sonic fence killed him. Whether his body healed afterwards, he was revived by the island, or he's an illusion/clone is irrelevant because we saw Mikhail suffer a trauma that caused him to die. Of course, there's no proof that he flatlined, but there's also no proof that he remained alive. I say we wait until we conclusively learn what happened post-sonic fence to deduct any points. I'm obviously biased here, but this is an island where weird stuff happens all the time. Some people appear where they aren't, some people see the future, and 50 people survived a freaking pressurized plane splitting apart above an uncharted island and the subsequent fall. If Mikhail died and came back to life, I think I should keep the points. If he in fact never died, and it's addressed, I'll concede. But if anyone else comes back to life (Christian Shepherd for example), I demand justice!

I agree with CW. There's a difference between never dead and resurrected (unless the rules say that the character has to stay dead).....
Otherwise, we might have to rethink the whole Jesus died on the cross for our sins and was reborn. :)

I have no idea how the Death Pool works, nor am I a part of it, but I have to agree with CW. It seems more fair to wait until you have a concrete answer than to change things while assuming something. After all, it was assuming that Mikhail was dead, when we know find out he wasn't that caused this problem in the first place. NOW you are going to assume he's alive, when we might find out he WAS dead, but was brought back to life somehow (I'm not even going to conjecture how). You should wait until there's an explanation. But it's TVSquad's game and I guess you're playing by TVSquad's rules...

Don't forget how many times ppl came "back to life" in shows like alias, and they weren't on any weird island in that show. Perspective?
