Michael Ausiello at TV Guide is reporting a big scoop: NCIS star Mark Harmon is threatening to walk off the hit CBS show.
Citing inside sources, Ausiello says that Harmon has always been fed up with producer Donald Bellisario's (Magnum, P.I., JAG, Quantum Leap) "chaotic management style" and wants off the show. The source also says that Harmon is one of the nicest guys on television and that he's in the right on this one. The dispute is described as "a big standoff."
So I'll ask you readers the same thing that Ausiello asks his readers: can NCIS survive without Mark Harmon, or is he the main reason to watch the show?

I would still watch it, however I'd prefer him in the show.

I'd stop watching. The character of Gibbs totally makes the show.

I would still watch and would believe that the show could still maintain a high standard of quality if (and only if) Michael Weatherly as Special Agent Dinozzo played the role of NCIS leader, like he was when the season started.

I would be really hard, but it could make it a fifth, if not sixth year. By then, however, it would be due to get canceled...if it isn't if he leaves.
I'd watch, but it wouldn't be as good I'd imagine, unless DPB pulls something big off, like bring back Harmon Rabb to work at NCIS.....hmm....that actually sounds like a fun idea!

Though Ducky is probably my fave of them all followed by Abbie, I don't think the show would be the same without Gibbs. It was nearly unbearable when the character was off in Mexico for the short time. don't get me wrong I love em all but some characters make the series, holds it together, Gibb is certainly one of those!
I have heard that mark Harmon is one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. I've never heard him go off star trippin' as I call it, so if he's making a stand, and threatening to leave, it'll be for a good reason.

Considering how much I've always disliked Mark Harmon, I might actually start watching NCIS if he left.

Why comment if you don't even watch? Seriously...
I don't think it would be the same, though I'd at least give it a try.

#9: Why do you even respond if you don't know anything about the actor or the show? Just wondering...

I watch for Weatherly. I got no problem with Harmon leaving or staying for that matter.
Now if they could can Ducky. I could never stand his ramblings. I skip his scenes.

Mark Harmon is the main reason that I watch the show....the other actors, the entire ensemble is awesome. Losing Harmon would be a cancer to the show.
Make it work People!

Gibbs is the central figure -- even when he's not featured, his presence is felt. It's a character-driven show. It's like a family, and Gibbs is the cool dad.

The show is great because all the pieces fit together so well. I would problably watch the show without Harmon. But I can't imagine it being nearly as good.
