Charlie cheated death yet again! Of all the possible Charlie death scenarios so far, the arrow in the neck is my favorite. If he keeps this up, Charlie will risk being compared to Kenny from South Park. I have more news from last week's update about a certain guest star, but I will save that for after the jump.
Chris Wyant, April, and ts are still in the top spots. Alex, bbf203, BlackViking, darciedyan, Ed W., Gregory Capobianco, Holli, Hubba, jks, Kat, Kenneth Chong, Kristi Parry, Lauren, Michael, PlusDrew, Priscilla, RedStarRevolution, and Tracy are close behind. For a complete list of death pool standings, please refer to the post for Week Eight.
Stop reading if you want to avoid potential spoilers for "D.O.C."
As I mentioned in last week's pool update, Andrew Divoff (Mikhail) is set to guest star on "D.O.C." Since that episode is a Sun and Jin flashback, I initially thought this was odd. I have just read a spoiler preview on BuddyTV that claims that Mikhail will show up on the island, not a flashback! (FYI, the BuddyTV link contains spoilers for later episodes as well)
Apparently, Desmond and the gang send up a flare after discovering Naomi in the jungle. Mikhail shows up in response to the flare. I have no idea how they will explain this one, but I am definitely intrigued. This would be an unprecedented event on Lost, and it would also change things for the death pool.
If Mikhail is genuinely alive on the island, all Mikhail-related death pool points will be deducted. I'm anticipating a pretty clear explanation of how he survived the fence, and I hope it won't be debatable (for my sake). If he dies in a later episode, players will receive the usual five points as well as episode points for that particular episode, not the episode in which he first "died." Yikes, this is going to be complicated! But who knows--perhaps things won't go as expected, and everyone will keep their points. Good luck to all of you this week!
Look for a special death pool post about BuddyTV's spoilers for the rest of Season Three. I should be posting it soon.

Knew it, Knew it, Knew it. I protested Mikhail's death from the moment it happened. I do understand waiting for proof, thats fine, but that vindication tastes damn sweet...

People will freak, but my money is on Mikhail being cloned...there could be thousands of him for all we know...

All right, I'm going to try to defend the Mikhail death position. When he went through the sonic fence, we heard a loud noise. It was active. Blood shot out of his ears and nose and he foamed at the mouth. He then collapsed. I contend that the sonic fence killed him. Whether his body healed afterwards, he was revived by the island, or he's an illusion/clone is irrelevant because we saw Mikhail suffer a trauma that caused him to die. Of course, there's no proof that he flatlined, but there's also no proof that he remained alive. I say we wait until we conclusively learn what happened post-sonic fence to deduct any points. I'm obviously biased here, but this is an island where weird stuff happens all the time. Some people appear where they aren't, some people see the future, and 50 people survived a freaking pressurized plane splitting apart above an uncharted island and the subsequent fall. If Mikhail died and came back to life, I think I should keep the points. If he in fact never died, and it's addressed, I'll concede. But if anyone else comes back to life (Christian Shepherd for example), I demand justice!
