(S03E19) Last week's episode left me with a lot of questions and expectations for this week's installment of Desperate Housewives. Would Susan dump Ian for good? How would Edie and Carlos' relationship evolve? Would Lynette cheat on Tom with Rick? But most importantly, I wanted to know how Mr. McCluskey died, why he was in the freezer and why was Mrs. McCluskey not reporting his death?

Even though I'm a spoilers addict and knew most of the answers to my own questions, spoilers are never 100% accurate so I was impatiently waiting for the episode. Sadly, the episode didn't give me all the goods I was waiting for.

Would Susan dump Ian for good?

I have to agree with Jen when in her review of last week's episode she said "The whole Susan, Ian, Mike storyline is becoming unbearable. I wish she would just send Ian back to England where he belongs." Even though every show must do a sort of love triangle, the Susan/Ian/Mike one is boring to watch. Could it partially be due to the fact that Ian went from "likeable" to "pain in the backside" as Judy, a TV Squad visitor, commented in last week's review thread? Judy's comment resonated in my mind when I watched "God, That's Good." I personally think that a dummy could have replaced Ian in his scene with Susan in the dark. He was lifeless. Did that scene even serve a purpose?

Later in the episode, we finally saw the Ian/Mike showdown that needed to happen for Susan to open her eyes. It was a bit cheesy to compare the two guys to cakes (the British one is rich and elegant, the US one is down to earth and sweet) but it served its purpose. I was so happy when I saw Mike take a leap of faith and admit his love to Susan in front of Ian. If the conversation had ended there, I'm pretty sure Susan would have chosen Mike. But since the poker bet secret was revealed Susan decided to dump both guys. Even though this is not the turn of events a lot of fans wanted (they wanted Susan+Mike forever), it at least sent Ian on the curb... for now. What will Susan do next? Do you think she'll ever be able to choose between Ian and Mike?

How would Edie and Carlos' relationship evolve?

Wasn't it fun to watch Edie and Carlos sneak around like teenagers in love often do? Edie claiming she feels like she's 12 again says a lot about her. It's nice to see Edie finally grow up thanks to Carlos. I was almost heartbroken when Carlos discovered that Gaby was engaged. He hoped so much to rekindle his love with her. I do hope they get back together down the road. In the meantime, it seems that he'll fully commit to Edie and her son.

Would Lynette cheat on Tom with Rick?

I'm quite unhappy with this "Will Lynette cheat?" storyline. To me, Tom and Lynette are the equivalent of Sandy and Kirsten from The O.C. I loved Lynette and Tom because they stood by one another, they were a loving family, and they were in love. With Rick in the picture, Lynette seems ready to throw in the towel on her couple. Yes, Tom is annoying right now (it was somewhat fun to see him try to mark his territory in this episode) and wants to run the restaurant his way but that doesn't mean she can throw herself in Rick's arms. Tom and Lynette will need a major one-on-one talk to settle all their issues. I sure hope they do as TV needs a couple that works and can talk things through without cheating on one another as a way to escape their problems.

Gaby and Victor

Even if I put spoilers aside, it was pretty much obvious where this relationship was going based on the previews. Sex in the elevator? Nothing new. Sex pictures used to ruin a candidate's campaign? Nothing new. I have a feeling that Victor may not be 100% in love with Gaby. Did he really propose out of love? Or is it a campaign stunt? Or maybe both?

How did Mr. McCluskey died, why he was in the freezer and why was Mrs. McCluskey not reporting his death?

Even if the dead spouse storyline has been done a lot on the show, I was intrigued by this one. I know Desperate Housewives is based on mystery, but couldn't they allow us to overhear what Mrs. McCluskey told Parker? I want to know what she said to have him go from scared to smiling. Did she kill her husband? Did he died and she put him in there for some reason? I certainly hope that the show doesn't drag this too long. Especially since McCluskey is a supporting character.

In all, the episode wasn't bad but it didn't really deliver anything fresh. It merely moved things a bit further and set scene for the May Sweeps episodes.

On a scale of 1 to 7, with 7 being the best, I'm going to give this episode a 4.
