Jack Bauer on 24*Warning: Spoilers ahead from the latest episode.*

Jack Bauer's goin' rogue. Again. He's doing it for love this time, not country. He's bargaining that he's strong and savvy enough and, doggone it, smart enough to outwit the Chinese captors who are holding his lover hostage.

We'll see. So, while we think about how Jack plans to save Audrey Raines, here are four moments to ponder from hour 18:

Quote of note: "I know you've been through hell, not just today, but the last couple years," Mike "The Brawler" Doyle said to Jack. Maybe I should re-name this item, "The Biggest Understatement of the Week."

Quote of note II: "Jack, we both know that if we do this, it will create an international situation. Big time," said TV Squad commenters' favorite Chloe O'Brian upon hearing Jack's plan to liberate Audrey. (Geez, write one blog item questioning Chloe's character, after a bazillion mentions of how she's fabulous, and you get blasted.)

Moment of tension between CTU staffers: It's gotta be Jack and Bauer-wanna-be-Doyle, when Jack got in Doyle's face trying to justify why saving Audrey was worth risking giving the Chinese intel on Russian weapons technology. "I don't mix relationships with my job," Doyle said. This prompted Jack to get in his face and growl, "She served this country with honor. We owe her. So get in the truck." Of course, a few minutes later, Jack stuck a gun in Doyle's face. And booted him from said truck. Because he does mix his relationship with his job.

ACLU nightmare moment of the week: After the gruesome nature of last week's ACLU nightmare moment of the week (Fayed. Chain.), the writers must have decided to back off on the flouting of the civil rights and torture business in this episode. After going through my notes I couldn't find a single moment from this hour that would qualify as an ACLU nightmare. If you can think of one, please, by all means, put it in the comments section.
