Sean Murray is probably best known for his role as geeky Agent Timothy McGee (nicknamed "Probie" and "McGeek" by one of the other characters) on JAG's spin off NCIS, airing on CBS.The 29-year-old American actor has been officially acting since 1991 when he starred as Joe Jr. in Backfield in Motion, a TV project that also starred Roseanne and Tom Arnold. On the TV side of things, Murray has guest starred in a few series such as Silk Stalkings, ER, Touched by an Angel, and Boston Public. His longest guest starring stint was on JAG where he played a character named Ensign Guitry in one episode and portrayed character Danny Walden in five episodes. Sean Murray also appeared in a few movies such as This Boy's Life and Hocus Pocus.
It was inevitable that Murray would eventually guest star in JAG and NCIS since his step-father, Donald P. Bellisario, is producing both shows. But it's thanks to Murray's acting skills, geeky charm, and on-screen naivety, that his recurring role on NCIS eventually became a regular gig.
In 1994, he was nominated twice for a "Young Artist Award" for his work in Hocus Pocus and the TV series Harts of the West.
Having mostly played supporting characters until now, there aren't many sites devoted to actor Sean Murray. Maybe the growing popularity of his NCIS character will help rectify that (especially if the show finally has McGee and Abby hook up officially!).
Sean Murray can be seen every week on NCIS, airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.

Huh, cool. I hadn't realized that Donald Bellisario was his stepfather. But who cares, he does a fine acting job! And I learned a few things about him too. Thanks!

I feel as though preparations have been laid for the replacement of one of the team members, I really thought Tony and David were finally going to have their moment
