This is the funniest thing you will see today. Seriously, check it out.
Why are you still here? Go watch this video. Right now*.
Adam McKay and Will Ferrell, both formerly of Saturday Night Live (Ferrell as a performer, and McKay as a writer) have made two of the funniest movie comedies in the last few years, Anchorman and Talladega Nights, and this short featuring McKay and Ferrell as two roommates and their cranky landlord had me laughing so hard that milk spilled from my nose -- not milk I was drinking, but milk I haven't even drank yet. That's how incredibly funny it is. The short is only about two minutes long, and I can't tell you much more about it without spoiling it for you, so go watch it.
For more fun, check out this Will Ferrell movie generator. The generator pokes fun at the fact that Ferrell's comedy projects tend to have similar plots, but that's what makes them so great. There's so much comedy packed into them that the plot becomes meaningless. That's how Monty Python made moves, too, you know.

Yeah... that was not hilarious. Mildly amusing, but not that funny.

Not a fan of Will Ferrell and this didn't do anything to change that. I just don't find him the least bit funny. Never have, and from the looks of things, never will.

Sorry. I laughed when Pearl first appeared, but teaching a--what? 2-year-old? 3-year-old? to say "bitch" and "asshole" doesn't actually rate high on my laugh-o-meter.
Maybe this is funnier to people who don't spend much time around little kids. All I can say is if anyone had tried to involve my nephews in something like that, I would have bitch-slapped 'em. Assholes.

There's no way to be sure, but I assumed they didn't teach her to say those words, that she was just babbling and by using the subtitles and clever editing they made it appear as if she was swearing. Kids at that age "talk" constantly all the time, and some of what they say is going to sound like actual words, so creating something like this wouldn't be that difficult.
For example, there's a video circulating the Web of a little boy saying "dump truck," but it sounds an awful lot like "buttf***" when he says it.
I honestly don't think they taught this girl (who I assume is Ferrell or McKay's daughter) to swear, I think the comedy of the piece comes from the fact that adding fake subtitles can make it appear she's saying something she really isn't.

Adam, Do you get paid for directing hits to that site? You definitely over-sold it. It was not that funny.

hold on. go ahead and not like will ferrell, you certainly have enough reason to, he's practically the same character in every movie he's done for the last 4 years, but don't say that isn't absolutely hilarious.

i work with toddlers/preschoolers and i don't think that this was dubbed as you can see her face and lips making the formations of the sounds. and even if it was, it just made me think so poorly of Will Ferrell and his co-writer Adam McKay.
they could have done it fine without having a child say "bitch" 4-5 times, "krap" and "asshole". i can say that not only did i find it absolutely not hilarious, but i feel sad for the people who did... what happened in your life that could posssibly make you think it is funny to see a toddler curse? do you think it's funny to give a cat or dog beer and watch it stumble? do you think it's funny to make fun of street people? what a sad world it has become if this is considered "absolutely hilarious"...

Seriously lighten up people. Life is too short to worry about this kind of thing. It is comedy. The kid is going to be cursing for the rest of their life anyway, as soon as they turn 7 years old...they are going to be picking up everything. She has no clue what she is saying, so it doesnt even matter. Take it easy and go worry about your own kids. If they are over 12 they are probably getting drunk and stoned on the weekends and having so much sex that you don't know about...so you should worry about that and not about a toddler swearing.

to be perfectly honest, devine, sometimes i do make fun of street people. but i also slip them a buck, so i think it all evens out.
also, a imagine i would laugh hysterically at a drunk dog. verdict is still out on a cat, it's just not the same visual.

For GOD'S SAKE!!! At the (very bearable) risk of ruffling feathers of any of you strange birds out there; this video was bloody funny!! Okay, I'm 35, have two pretty healthy and 'well-adjusted', not to mention adorably 'loopy', children and am kind of bemused by the vitriolic outrage at this pretty harmless short. I'm not going to list all the reasons why I believe this to be true because I'm a little tipsy and the reasons are kinda involved so clarity is compromised, my fingers will start to cramp and, frankly, I really shouldn't have to explain what should be pretty obvious to most people not teetering on the brink of self-indulgent hysteria. Come on, really. Lighten UP!

That WAS in fact, the funniest "sit" I've seen all day.
As the mother of a 1.5 year old, and posessing all kinds of Final Cut Pro skills, it is my humble (and correct) opinion that Pearl isn't really swearing. If you make a toddler say "sit" or "bits" and then throw subtitles that read "shit" or "bitch" over it, your brain reads it as swearing. Maybe they made her say "asshole," or "ass-o" so it sounds like "asshole," but really, who cares. I'm sure she'll grow up to be a perfectly well-adjusted alcoholic landlord just the same.

I taught my son to say "unindicted co-conspirator" when he was about Pearl's age--he's now 13 and I don't think he's going to turn into a Republican any more than Pearl will be a Kindergarten potty mouth. I'd write more, but I have to go get my drink on.

I have a 2 year old son and I thought it was hilarious. I am certain that the swear words have been dubbed. Her mouth does not sync up with the words. You all need to lighten up and appreciate humor for humor. No, I would not teach my son these words, but c'mon people, can't you take a joke? If you don't find it funny, that's just a matter of taste. I thought it was well written and funny.

Melissa echoed my sentiments.
I see no evidence of "dubbing" at all; it's just subtitles making it appear she's saying something she really isn't.
