Welcome to TV Squad Lists (formerly 'The Five'), a feature where each blogger has a chance to list his or her own rundown of things in television that stand out from the rest, both good and bad.NBC's My Name Is Earl officially centers on the lives of 5 characters: Earl, Randy, Joy, Catalina, and Darnell. However, there is a 6th character. Not a person but something that is as important as Earl in this series: Earl's list. Without the list, what would the series be?
Since the series premiered, fans across the world tried to keep track of all the items on his list. The "The List (My Name Is Earl)" page at Wikipedia is probably one of the most complete and comprehensive one out there. When I stumbled on it I couldn't help myself but to read all the items and giggle at a few entries. For those less familiar with My Name Is Earl, the lead character made a list of everything bad he did in his life and tries to fix one of these bad deeds every episode.
When I read the list, some items had me giggle as I imagined what Earl did back then or how he would fix them now, or just because I tried to picture how the others (especially Joy) reacted when Earl did those bad things. In no specific order, here are the top 12 items I think are the funniest on Earl's list:
- Beat up Joy's nitpicking Internet friend.
- Broke Bus Stop while looking for Poncho the blue fish.
- Copped a feel off old Ms Jones. But I think she liked it.
- Cut holes in all of Dad's shirts to show his nipples.
- Gave Joy 236 bladder infections.
- Pulled whiskers from Randy's chin.
- Replaced Sheridan Lang's birth control pills with Tic-Tacs.
- Sold Joy's hair.
- Stole spoons from library.
- Told Joy that Bruce Willis was a ghost.
- Went clothes shopping at local laundromat.
- Went to sex anonymous support group to pick up girls.

Were any of the ones you listed besides "Stole spoons from library" covered in any episodes so far? The spoons one is the only one I remember from your list, but I could've forgotten a few.

erroneous_nick: If you look at the Wikipedia page I referenced, you will see when they were mentioned either during the show, in previews of scenes that didn't air (or were tweaked) or on NBC.com.
- Broke Bus Stop while looking for Poncho the blue fish: Completed in 1.16 when Earl puts the sign back-up
- Cut holes in all of Dad's shirts to show his nipples: Episode 1.18 - Earl considers crossed off by itself because "his nipples have drooped down like 6 inches".
- Stole spoons from library: Episode 2.13 - Completed when Earl found that the spoons had been returned to the library.
The rest are all "outstanding" items on his list that he didn't get to yet.

Thanks, Isabelle.
I know it was a lazy question and I do plan on visiting the Wikipedia page later tonight. I just made a quick visit to TVSquad during a coffee break at work and got curious.
:o)
