Baldwin vs. Basinger - I am saddened to hear that anyone has to live what I have to as well. I applaud Alec for releasing his statement to the public even though it is none of our business. Divorce is horrible on children. Anyone that would put a child through humiliation like that is not worth making a reponse to. However, I know, as Alec does, whenever anyone starts a negative attack on an honest person, that person feels compelled to state their own case. The judicial system, and our United States have gone to pieces with the whole divorce process. Our lives have merely become a game to judges, attorneys, therapists and the police. They profit while the one who attacks takes delight....all at the sacrifice of our children. I feel the same way Alec does, and it pains me to know that anyone has to go through this.

Parental Alienation Syndrome is very real!!! We lived it and it is the most cruel and selfish act the custodial parent can do to a child. It is child abuse, but the judges don't get it! When you are constantly, constantly dissed or falsely accused by your child for no reason it can drive you to a breaking point. Alec, please read "Divorce Poison" by Richard Warshak. You will be amazed at how accurately it discribes what you are going through with Parental Alienation. Good luck to you!!!! We got our kids back.

Please consider it, Mr. Baldwin. My heart leapt when I heard you mention Parental Alienation. I can not recall ever hearing those words spoken publicly, and awareness of this type of abuse needs to be brought to the forefront, so that change can eventually take place. Although it may be too late for some of us, it is the children and parents yet to come that could reap the rewards of such a prominent and recognizable figure lending himself to address the treachery that our children face today. I hope that you would atleast consider it, Mr. Baldwin. Someone, somewhere, at some point in time, has to bring attention to this debilitating disease sweeping across the American Landscape, and with divorce steadily on the rise, and in-turn, more broken families... If something isn't done now, it will most assuredly destroy the fabric of society, as we know it. Best Wishes in whatever your pursuits.

This is so sad what Alex Baldwin said to his daughter! She is a child! He needs to have the state called on him for his "mental abuse" he has brought on this child.

Alec is a terrible rotten human being. There is no excuse to ever talk to a child in this abusive manner. RAT BASTARD- He should say that he made a mistake and apologize. The act of blaming someone else is called denial. What a horrendous act towards a child. Wrong, bad and stupid. I hope he realizes what a mistake this is to talk yto any child this way. Child abuse lives with you forever.

While I don't condone the message left by Baldwin to his daughter, I can truly understand and appreciate, through personal experience, the level of frustration he has reached. Custodial parents who use their children to strike back at their former spouses are despicable. Baldwin has to realize the intense pressure and conflict his 11 year old daughter is under in trying to please her mother. For Baldwin to hope his daughter can rationalize this unfortunate situation like an adult is asking too much of her. Baldwin needs to let his daughter know that no matter what, he's always there for her. He needs to request that she simply judge by what she sees and hears with her own eyes and ears. If his daughter grows into an adult and wants to judge Baldwin using her mother's visceral rants, then Baldwin needs to let his daughter know that, because of her age, the conduct against him is no longer acceptable. Baldwin will need to assure her he will always be available when she's ready to have a one-on-one relationship on an adult level.
