It's been accurate during every round of the Top 12 phase (even predicting Chris Sligh's surprise ouster), but if the AOL 'American Idol' poll is right, this week's results episode is gonna be one for the books.
Front-runner and judge favorite Lakisha Jones and Justin Timberlake knock-off Chris Richardson should dust off their Samsonite. They are the bottom-two finalists in the poll after last night's Gloria Estefan fest. The two have been swapping last-place rankings in the results line-up all day.
Unfortunately, Lakisha has never really connected with viewers beyond the initial sympathy she drummed up by playing the "single mother" card. And Blake is siphoning away votes from his best bud Chris, who is good just not good enough to make an impression.
Who's No. 1? AOL users picked Sanjaya as their future 'Idol,' almost tripling Melinda's numbers. She's currently in second place -- and a far second place, at that.
Good news for Haley, though. According to the poll results, her miniskirts are flying her through one more week. See for yourself.

Chris, Phil, Haley & Lakisha need to go. I think people are gonna hang onto Sanjaya cos he's so fun to poke fun at & we all know he doesn't deserve to be in the top 12. My top 3 picks are Jordin, Melinda & Blake....in that order. I know I'm not wrong on that one.

GOOD BYE HALEY !! And why is Sanjaya still here? Is everyone crazy - one night of good singing and he stays on top. Viewers have to understand that sex & hair are not the purpose of this show - talent & singing are! Let's go Jordin & Melinda - they should be the final 2 with a tough decision as to who will win.

Why-oh-why don't the judges give scores that would count! At least a percentage of the final vote. This is not a popularity contest, folks! This is to find a great singer with real talent and obviously the general public doesn't know how to find that!

Are we seeing the end of "American Idol" this year? If Sanjaya wins, then I can't help but feel that true officienados of music will change channels next year when AI is on the air. I know I will...That's if it is even available. Simon, himself has said that he won't be back if Sanjaya wins. Wake up, America! Let's reward the true talented singers...not the wannabes. If AI does return next year, I bet nothing short of a Mariah Carey or a modern day Frank Sinatra will get through to the finals.

I agree with one writer that Sanjaya has totally obliterated the credibility of the American Idol Show. I really used to enjoy this show. but now it is totally rediculous. This guy has NEVER even been in the same league with the other contestants, yet he is here week after week. Frankly, I'm boared to death with it now. It seems like the "tenny boppers" are now running AI. Too bad!!
