Ballers, a new sports show for BET that debuts Friday, April 20 at 10:00 p.m., hopes to draw in both sports fans and non-sports fans with a mixture of humor and lively discussion about what's happening in the world of sports.
The show will feature former NBA player John Salley, former professional football player Hugh Douglas, comedian Guy Torry (most of you would probably recognize Torry from American History X), and Claudia Jordan of Deal or No Deal.
The show will take place in a club with DJ Rashida on the turntables and spirited discussion among the hosts. The creators of the show, who also helmed The Best Damn Sports Show Period, hope to attract different types of viewers by offering a more upbeat alternative to other sports shows.
As someone who cares not for sports, I'm skeptical of any sports show claiming it can hold my interest, but then again, I have no interest in the stock market and I love Mad Money on CNBC, so I'm keeping my mind open.
Oh yeah, the video below has nothing to do with the show, but the title reminded me of Skee-lo's song "I Wish," and now that song is stuck in my head. If I have to walk around humming it the rest of the day, then so do the rest of you.
