In her exit interview, Idol's resident rocker, Gina Glocksen, claims she had no idea she would be going home last Wednesday night. Gina says, "I thought that I had a really good performance on Tuesday, and I was really proud of the song that I chose and the way that I chose to present it."
Until last week, Gina's fans had kept her safely above the bottomfeeders . Gina says, "I didn't even have a chance to be in the bottom three ever, and the one time that I was, I'm going home. So it was pretty hard."
As far as her thoughts on Sanjaya outlasting her, Gina says, Sanjaya is "just different. It's not that he's better or worse. He's Sanjaya and Jordan is Jordan and Chris is Chris and Blake is Blake."
Although she accepts that America was through with her, Gina is looking forward to joining the other Idol contestants on this summer's tour.
And Gina is still an "Idol" to her hardcore fans. Her hometown of Naperville, Illinois, is planning a homecoming parade in her honor, which will be filmed for FOX for a behind-the-scenes Idol reality show.
