Someone should have told Michael Buble to Having personally seen Tony Bennett and Michael Buble in concert, I would have confidently told you that Michael Buble would certainly show the contestants and the world how singing standards should be done.
His performance was nothing but a true disappointment...
Could it have been that he had taken his wisdom teeth out recently? Maybe he too had the flu that prevented Tony Bennett from taking the stage. If he just let his performance be, he would have been able to avoid the scrutiny that is tapping from my fingertips this morning. When he mentioned Antonella Barba to Ryan, I realized that he seemed to have that same dazed affliction that Paula suffers from.
What exactly are they feeding you guys at craft services? Was Michael drinking out of Paula's Coke cup?
We may never have an answer to these questions, but a few key questions were answered last night on Lost. After finding themselves handcuffed to each other and dumped unconscious in the middle of the jungle, Kate and Juliet are face to face with that horrible smoke monster. I think Ryan didn't get that he was joking when he commented about if the votes are wasted if he still votes for Antonella. It was funny because she was so scadalous with the porn pix that were out...and all the hype that built up around her. I though it was a funny joke. Sounds like he might watch the show and thats cool. Blah, I gotta go.

Yeah I also wasn't thrilled with the performance, seemed he gave about a half effort.

Michael Buble is a magnificent performer. I don't think alot of the viewers get Michael's sense of style. He's very casual and humorous. I'm sure he knew Antonella Barber is off of the show, or he wouldn't have asked if he was wasting his votes. IT WAS A JOKE, PEOPLE! Critics love to tear people down. His new CD is going to be amazing. If there were any faults, which I didn't notice, it could be that the guy was, obviously asked to do this at the last minute. This song is a brand new song off of his yet to be released CD, and it was his first time performing it live. I considered myself lucky to have seen the performance. Anyway, I was sorry to see Gina go. She was one of the livliest personalities left in that group of Idols. She'll be missed.

Buble was unable to perform well because he thought of that Antonella joke half way through and started laughing so hard on the inside. He was confident that everyone would think it was funny.

Yes the performance was awful, but it was also funny, and provided one of the great unscripted moments in recent TV with the Barba line. Saw what you will about American Idol and its impact on society, but there is something to be said for a show seen by this many people that is broadcast LIVE. Anything can happen, and it often does.

Even if this was Bubles' sense of humor his vocal display left alot to be desired; why bother with replacing Tony if he is ill? Have the current contestants sing, unrehearsed, in a group!! At any rate, I will miss Gina very much & certainly think this is by far the worst of AI and its' phoning audience. I have no problem with Sanjaya other than the same thing I said about Buble. Not much talent people!!!! This may very well be my last year.

He has a style of the ol' time crooners.
