(S08E07) I never know what I'm going to get with most of the models on a week to week basis. For a while Jael was stepping up her game. Then, this week she entered the "tripping acid zone" and lost her mind at the celebrity social.
Jaslene was flawless week after week after week. Then, she summoned the inner drag-queen that's been fighting to be released all season, and her photos ended up being a bit of a mess this week.
Dionne was pretty much blending in with the scenery the first five episodes, and now she's suddenly one of the more prominent models on the show. The same argument could be made for Natasha.
Brittany was a star the first few shows, but somewhere around the time she got the red badger cross-stitched into her skull, she lost something. Finally, Sara and Whitney seemed really confident for a while, but now seem really unsure of their abilities.
That leaves Renee. Reader Kira summed it up in last weeks comments best. The only constant in this show is Renee. She has been a raging bitch since day one and has hardly waiverered through seven episodes. She also takes great pictures. She may get an F- as far as social skills go, but she gets an overwhelming A+ for consistency.
Which is why I got a real kick out of the Dr. Phil section of the show when Tyra sat the girls down and let them take turns verbally drop-kicking Renee's personality.
Renee's apology to the girls didn't feel sincere in the least. Is anyone willing to make a wager as to how many minutes will elapse in the next episode before Renee pisses one of the girls in the house off again? I say under 10, and I'm being conservative.
So this week, we found the girls creating nicknames that conveyed their inner spirit. Instead, we got gems like Moe, Wholahay, Naim, Brit, Whitelle, Nata, and the extremely creative Jaslene and Jael.
Personally, I think Jaslene and Jael should have been docked a few points for copping out and refusing to pick a new name but instead the judges commended them. Go figure.
Did anyone notice that a little while before 50 Cent (rightfully) assaulted Jael by throwing her into the pool that he called Renee a "supermodel for real". I'm only saying this because it validates my choosing her to win since day one. I will continue pointing this out until she wins or gets kicked off.
I loved the conversation been Nicole Richie and Renee. Could a human being be any more sinister than Renee? I'm pretty sure she eats babies and washes them down with kitten smoothies. I thought Renee took the crown as the most evil person on the show but Nicole Richie did a good job herself by instigating the entire fight between Renee and Jael.
I couldn't really think of a whole lot to say about the photo challenge this week except that I peed a little bit when Miss Jay broke out the Wholahay dialect with a number of clicks thrown in for good measure. I've been waiting for Miss Jay to make me laugh out loud for a few weeks. He hasn't been as outspoken a figure this season.
I think the judges pretty much nailed the order of the best photos this week, and they were 100% correct in getting rid of Sara.
She came out strong, but seemd to lose a lot of steam as the season progressed. She just couldn't let loose enough and that turned out to be her downfall.
Looking at the competition on the whole, I'd rank the models in the following order:
1. Renee2. Jaslene
3. Nathasha
4. Dionne
5. Jael
6. Brittany
7. Whitney
We'll see what happens next week.

Anyway...as I did say, this season sure has me more confused than a baby in a room full of topless women. I thought "Brit" and Jaslene were front runners and they both tanked this week, I hated Jael, then I liked Jael, and now I want to slap Jael and throw her in the pool again. I thought Natasha was going to be a laughing-stock and now I actually think she might be my favorite.
I am not sad to see "I'm a photographer" Sara Moe go home. She certainly was knocked down a few pegs though these past few weeks wasn't she. Dionne is rising... but not really in her photographs and Whitney looks more and more like a JC Penny catalogue model.
That leaves us with dearest "NeNe". What a piece of work she is.... but ya know... she's beautiful and takes great photos and as long as there is a Tyra Banks around to sit you down in a group and encourage everyone to take their best swipes at you, well that should "keep ya real", and you will have a pretty good modeling career.
BTW, anyone think it won't be too long before Renee, Paris and Nicole will be trolloping pantiless about town together soon?
My personal highlight... seeing Caridee in her Cover Girl ad... I have a little girl on girl crush on her and I'm not afraid to say it.

I don't think soooo - perfectly ordinary looking I say - and what is up with her hair? - is that the best they can do? she always looks like she slept on it while it was wet - how about her ranting about her family - husband sleeping on the beach, child living with who?? charming stuff -
Melrose looked great though - I was suprised that they hauled her in - is that typical?? I have only been watching the show for the past two "cycles" and besides the winners in their Cover Girl commercials I haven't seen anyone else in anything anywhere -

I hate Renee. But I love Renee. I'm completely torn. She's a complete bitch, but at the same time, I think she's really gorgeous. Of all the girls, I think she benefited most from the makeover. Her hair looks great, it suits her perfectly, and despite the fact I want to despise her, every time she approaches the panel at judging, she just screams "model" and without saying a word.
Dionne has grown on me a lot in these couple weeks, as well. Even more significantly, I just can't wrap my head around Natasha's transformation. I mean, she just showed up out of nowhere, it seems!
I think that's gonna be the final three. Jaslene is gonna mess it up somewhere along the way.

Hey, I'm not sure if she ever mentioned it, but did you know that Sara is a photographer? I swear, that bee-otch annoyed me just as much as "she who must not be named."
My MIL called during the show -- did Jael and Natasha get a stern finger-wagging for their behavior at the party? I was shocked when their names were the first ones called with no mention of the spectacle they made out of themselves.

I meant to mention Jael's anti-dance moves at the party. It looked like drunken Tae Kwan Do - but I'm pretty sure she wasn't drunk.
I was sure it would come up too, but not a single judge mentioned Jael or Natasha's behavior.

Benny Medina dismissed them early; it didn't appear they got the interview and face time that the rest of the girls received. But when it came to judging? Nothing was mentioned. That's bizarre to me, because you'd think it would have been a good opportunity for Tyra to bless them out for not acting professional. I mean, why in the WORLD would Natasha jump in after Jael? Makes no sense!

#7 - Sara's head bob and goofy grin drove me nutz, too! Glad she is gone.
I was also surprised that Jael's and Natasha's behavior was not mentioned at the panel. That behavior was completely unacceptable. Jael proved she has no social graces at all.
I think Brittany's photos may be suffering because she is. That weave must be painful and distracting. How can you look carefree when you feel like your scalp is being ripped off?

filthy-scent pushing jael in the pool seemed completely contrived to me, anyone notice the,"time for my close-up,mr.demille?"glance was a dead give away.and what the hell w/ beverly johnson lounging like one of the pharoh's ho's in the background? give jaslene a break,a girl is allowed a bad shoot now & then, besides she must realize that this is only america's next NOT model.cheers!!!! oh, and i swear i've seen miss jay on a package of pancake mix.
