Jordin Sparks and Sanjaya Malakar have a lot in common. Both are seventeen, have great hair and are fighting for the top spot on American Idol. However, the similarities end there. Jordin's last performance on American Idol makes it quite clear that this girl can run laps around Sanjaya in the talent department. But do "Fanjordins" exist? Probably not in the way that "Fanjayas" do. Where exactly are these people? Apparently not in the Ellen audience, who resoundingly booed Sanjaya after a swift mention by the host herself. However, the widespread sentiment did not stop the one and only Jennifer Lopez in showing support for Sanjaya and explains why she respects him.
Sure, we may never see the curtains on this Sanjaya craziness, but there was at least one happy ending last night...
Bam wed his childhood friend and new wife Missy on the season finale of Bam's Unholy Union. In a traditional but unconventional exchange of vows, these two tied their unholy knot, as did several other reality couples before them on MTV last night. A sweet moment for everyone, but I have one question: Has anyone started a divorce pool on these two yet?

Far as I'm concerned, the best of this year's lot was sent home last week. The Fanjaya's and Paula's Beetlejuice get-up last night secure this season's Idol as the worst ever! Jordin did sparkle for the first time last night, but there is not one remaining finalist whose CD I would ever run out to purchase as I have in year's past. It's been downhill since Daughtry got the boot.

First of all, we ALL know WHY Sanjaya is getting botes at all...NOT because of little "teeny boppers" but because this is all a joke....It has already been reported right on national TV, that Howard Stern is behind Sanjaya getting votes and staying on.....SO many MUCH better singers hace lost their well deserved chances because of Howard playing this silly fame just to get Simon upset....The report about what Howard Stern is doing was on National daytime TV last week...and it was his own Fiance is the one who told everyone about it..... SIMON should speak out about this silly little joke....and Sanjaya should wake up and smell the coffee, and know that he is just being used as a pathetic joke and just pull himslef out...HOW can he even want to continue on...knowing he is the butt of a joke

well one of the better singers, left tonight.I think if Sanjaya, continues to hang on,and possibly win this season,a new system of voting will be put in place. The Idol is a singing contest, not a popularity, one and in this case,a "fixed"one, thanks to certain groups of people out there, determined to keep the "worst one"on the show.....

All this fuss over Idol is the desperate attempt by other networks to sock it to Fox. The jealousy is tangible.

Regarding Sanjaya's rise to fame via votefortheworst.com and Howard Stern: Don't these guys realize that they are not doing anyone a favor? It doesn't matter how many votes Sanjaya gets if he doesn't sell the cds. Obviously if this farce continues, the only loser will be Sanjaya and who knows what will happen when he realizes his talent is not what it is cracked up to be. Who will step forward and bear the responsibility for this? Will Howard Stern if Sanjaya goes off the deep end and does something unspeakable?

I think the whole show is kinda stupid. Except for Melinda no one has the kind of talent that will stick around. We're not going to find another Whitney Houston or Barbra Streisand on American Idol. I say Sanjaya should win. It'd be fun! And the Michael Jackson comparison is just plain stupid.

I am a Fanjaya because I love seeing Idol fans pissed off that he's still on. I think American Idol is a blight on TV's showscape and must be stopped at all costs, and the first step to that is killing its credibility by making Sanjaya win. Sanjaya FTW!!!!

I am sorry to hear Kelly Clarkson will be a guest singer. She ditzed Idol when she thought she was too big for them, so now when they offer the biggest viewing audience anywhere, she will come back and grace their stage. Boo.

The show is AWFUL! I used to love to watch to see what talented youths and young adults have to offer. The show is a farce. The judging should be changed perhaps the top 24 should be voted by America and the judges. The final 12 by the judges only. No one is going to buy a CD from Haley or Sanjaya. What's the point! It's sad to see some talented hopefuls lose their dream over a joke! BAD MOVE!!!!

I think everybody on this board needs to remember the starving attention mechanisms used by American Idol sometimes. Let's rewind to a few seasons ago...when William Hung became THE 15-minutes of fame spokesperson (15 is an exaggeration, maybe 7, or 8 minutes). And correct me if I'm wrong but before the "real contest" even starts the whole point of showing the tryouts is to poke fun of the people who, for lack of a better word, suck. And let's be honest, only two or three people who actually have won American Idol have gone farther than that stage. People need to relax. Even if Sanjaya wins, it's not like people are going to start caring all of a sudden. Let the kid have his fun, even if he doesn't deserve it. If the other contestants wanted it more, then they'd be working harder.
