TV Squad blogger: Rich Keller

rich kellerWhere do you write from?
Usually from my laptop or my home office. Sometimes I even have a chance to write from my real-world workplace, but don't tell them I do that or the next time I answer you I may be writing from dumpster in an empty alley.

Craziest/funniest TV Squad comment you've seen?
Only one? Geez, that's like asking someone to choose their most favorite 80's cartoon series. To be honest, the craziest comments are those that come from people who think we have actual contact with the people and shows we report on. If we did have that much personal contact with them we probably wouldn't be writing for TV Squad, would we?

If you were only able to watch one TV show, what would it be?
Again with 'only one'? I would probably have to say M*A*S*H, but only up to the point before Radar left the series. After that it got waaayyyy unfunny and very preachy. My backup would probably be Futurama, as I never really get tired of watching the episodes.

Most overrated and underrated TV show (current or past)?
Overrated? Well, American Idol of course. It's a simple talent show given a Hollywood makeover that made stars of some people that didn't deserve to be stars.
Underrated would be Psych, which can be smart without talking over the viewer. Plus, it features '80s pop culture drops galore.

Show that you would like to see a remake of?
None. There are 8 million stories out there and we have barely scratched the surface. We should be coming up with original stuff rather than remaking Green Acres with Paris Hilton and Drew Carey. Although, now that I think about that...

Best benefit of writing for TV Squad?
Just having an opportunity to write about something that I grew up with and love. And, preview DVD's of great shows like Painkiller Jane, Happy Hour and the live-action The Year Without a Santa Claus.

Where else can we see you on the web?
One day I will have my personal blog site up and running (because we don't have enough of them). In the meantime, you can see some of my fictional works at FanStory.com. You can also go to www.delawarecomedytheatre.com to learn more about the Improv troupe that I am a part of.
