Where do you write from? The heart ... or New Jersey, take your pick.
Craziest/funniest TV Squad comment you've seen?
Oh, there have been several. I've been accused of being in cahoots with cast members of reality shows. I've never been to Cahoots. I told you. I'm in Jersey. I've been to Ho-Ho-Kus, but not to Cahoots.
If you were only able to watch one TV show, what would it be?
A world with one TV show? Yikes! If it happened, I'd have to lay down some ground rules. The series would have to continue and with the same quality it's had since its inception. I'd need fresh episodes for years to come. That series, despite the fact that you see me writing about reality shows, would be The Wire. If it can't go on for decades, I guess I'm stuck watching live feeds from Big Brother.
Most overrated and underrated TV show (current or past)?
Another tough question. This is definitely a matter of personal taste. I've always figured that, while I might truly enjoy a show, another person might think it's trash and vice versa. With that in mind, if there's an audience for a show, let it air -- I can change the channel. As a huge and longtime David Letterman fan, I say Leno is way overrated. His shtick just doesn't make me laugh although I'll tune in when he has the Blue Man Group on. I also think C.S.I. Miami is overrated. I just can't abide by David Caruso's acting (or overacting as I see it).
The most underrated (or oblivious to many) would be Homicide: Life on the Street and The Wire. The writing from David Simon and company, the acting, the stories ... some of the best stuff ever on television, I say!
Best benefit of writing for TV Squad?
I like the private jet and the comfy offices with all the perks! Oh, wait. I'm writing this from my apartment. Scratch that. The best benefit is the audience. Yes, you ... the readers who so often let me know that I can be entertaining and perhaps even witty and pithy at times. I thank you! You give me warm fuzzies in a cold world at times!
Where else can we see you on the web?
I've been blogging for a while. About three years ago I decided that the Big Brother live feeds were perfect for the blogging medium (and few, if any, were doing it at that time). I created a blog specifically for the feeds and attracted an audience well beyond my expectations. After that I went on to create a blog covering shows I watch and a bit of a community in The (TV) Show Must Go On, otherwise known as Jackie's TV Blog. I've had some photography sites and a rather odd photo-blog, as well. I get around.
Who was your first TV crush?
I absolutely fell in love with Billy Mumy when he appeared on The Twilight Zone, then went on to Lost in Space. Yeah, I'm aging myself here. I must have done time travel, y'see. Yeah, time travel. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
