TV Squad blogger: Brad Linder

brad linderWhere do you write from?

If you were only able to watch one TV show, what would it be?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I decided to weather the recent writer's strike by pulling out my DVD set, and I was amazed how well the show holds up.

Most overrated and underrated TV show (current or past)?
My pick for most overrated show has got to be Lost. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loves me some JJ Abrams, some crazy Sci Fi happenings, and so on. But I've seen soap operas that move more quickly. Not that I watch soap operas... ummm.
Right, underrated show. I'm going to say Invader Zim, a show that was canceled before its time, largely because it was on the wrong network. If the show had been on Cartoon Network and not Nickelodeon, maybe it would have had a chance.

Best benefit of writing for TV Squad?
Hearing from readers, whether they agree or disagree with my views.

What's your home theater setup?
In my living room is an off the shelf Acer computer running Windows Vista Media Center and Snapstream Media's Beyond TV. The computer is really a bit too noisy to make a good home theater PC. One of these days I'll get a pretty new case with a quiet fan. The computer has one HDTV tuner, and one analog tuner, both of which are connected to a digital antenna which picks up over-the-air HDTV and analog signals. We canceled our cable subscription almost a month ago. Since the computer is hooked up to the home network, we occasionally watch internet videos from Comedy Central, VH1, and other networks and we download videos from Amazon Unbox. Even without cable, we have hundreds of hours of recorded television that we haven't gotten around to watching yet.

Where else can we see you on the web?
I write for so many web sites I have a hard time keeping track. You can find me at Download Squad, Green Daily, www.eeesite.net and www.bradlinder.net. And if you look around, you can find a lot of my radio work for networks and programs including National Public Radio, Weekend America, The World, and The Environment Report.
