TV Squad blogger: Allison Waldman

allison waldmanCraziest/Funniest TV Squad Comment?
I'm still kinda new to this, but when I did a post about Geena Davis' new pilot, someone accused me of picking the world's worst photo of Geena. Jeez, it was from Commander in Chief!

If you were only able to watch one TV show, what would it be?
Oooh, this is a tough one. A couple of years ago, it would have been Gilmore Girls. Now, it's a tie between The Office and House.

Most overrated and underrated TV show (current or past)?
Most overrated, to me anyway, was and is American Idol. It's just the Ted Mack Amateur Hour for a new generation. Most underrated right now is Psych. It's a really good little show. Most underrated of the past -- and at that time -- was Star Trek. That original show deserved more than 79 episodes. NBC had no idea what they had.

Best benefit of writing for TV Squad?
Being able to share my ideas and the freedom to express my opinions; you don't get to do that in most mainstream journalism.

Where else can we see you on the web?
TVWeek.com; check out the archives for all the interviews and TV business stories I've written. Also, I've written The Barbra Streisand Scrapbook, so I'm on a lot of Barbra Streisand web sites, especially Barbra-Archives.com, BarbraNews.com, and SimplyStreisand.com/forum, where I hang out with other Streisand fans.

If you were able to interview a TV character -- not the actor or actress -- who would it be?
I'd want to do an At Home with Rob & Laura Petrie.
