Animation news: Toonami, Ralph Bakshi and games

mighty mouse

Hey gang, here's what happening in the world of cartoons:

A new Simpsons game, possibly created to coincide with the movie, has been showing up on some retailer's list as "The Simpsons Game." Electronic Arts is publishing the game, which will be available for pretty much all the major platforms, including Wii.

In other game/animation news: "South Park 10: The Game," a mobile game based on the first ten seasons of the series, is being released on major wireless carriers. The game will include both adventure and puzzle elements, and you get to capture hippies. Sounds awesome. Also, the tenth season of the series could be out on DVD by August 28, though no official announcement from the studio has been made.

If you're unlike me and actually know what the heck Zatch Bell! is, you can now see the popular anime series on Toonami Jetstream, as well as on Cartoon Network.

Ever wonder how Aqua Teen Hunger Force creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis felt about the kerfuffle in Boston? Well, you'll have to keep wondering, cause they're not allowed to talk about it.

Awesome news for Ralph Bakshi fans: a biography / art book honoring the animation pioneer (Fritz the Cat, The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse) is being written by Chris McDonnell and Jon Gibson and scheduled for release in July 2008. Bakshi himself is giving the men full access to his archives for the project.
