Survivor Fiji: An Evil Thought

survivor(S14E07) Tonight I learned that I am not so much cheering for any tribe as I am for two players, namely Yau-Man and Earl. In this rather lackluster season these are the ones who keep me interested in the game. Not necessarily for their shrewd playing, although they are good players, but for their ability to keep themselves and the audience entertained with their antics.

Yau-Man is adorable when he finds the idol, he is absolutely filled with glee. He also does a brilliant job of covering his digging tracks. And I like that he immediately told Earl.

This episode's reward challenge involves a trip to an arcade. Rocky is thrilled at the prospect of beer. The challenge is a fun one, it involves lobbing fireballs at targets. Mookie seems to be mocking Yau-Man but Yau-Man hits the target. In the end, Ravu finally wins a challenge. And suddenly Rocky loves Dreamz.

The new Ravu gets to eat hot dogs and play games. Lisi seems to be fitting in with the boys. But all the gorging leaves some people with upset stomachs. Rocky however, uses the opportunity of Alex, Edgardo and Lisi's stomach upset to make fun of them. At this point, my watching companion starting waving goodbye to Rocky on the screen because it is clear that should Ravu lose, the Boston boy is in major jeopardy.

How adorable is Earl, creating "Earl Island" out of Exile Island. And how sneaky is Yau creating a fake immunity idol. My goodness, he is an evil genius. I love it!

The immunity challenge involves being blindfolded with a caller leading the tribe. We've seen variations of this challenge before but this time there is also a puzzle aspect. Interesting choice of music tonight to heighten the drama. Michelle is adorably plucky as a caller especially when she gets excited and falls off the platform. It's strange how much I love Moto now. But without Lisi and with Yau, Michelle and Earl they are just a more likable tribe. They win immunity yet again and I am actually happy because except for Stacy there isn't anyone there who needs to go.

And so the question for Ravu is, how annoying is Rocky versus how useless is Lisi? The former Moto crowd wants Rocky out but Mookie tries to get him to stay. But Lisi with her rather dimwitted bag of clues as to the location of the other hidden immunity idol is just marginally more of a keeper. Rocky is definitely sandbagged and so very bitter in his closing words. Maybe now Ravu might win one but frankly I just don't care anymore. It's like last season when I was quite content to just watch the intrepid four of Aitu, I'd be quite happy to watch Ravu slowly get eliminated.
