Where do you write from? The beautiful Pacific Northwest. Suburban Seattle, to be more specific.
Craziest/funniest TV Squad comment you've seen?
The one that sticks out for me came on a post I did about the winner of Who Wants To Be A Superhero. I made the mistake of putting a picture of Feedback before the jump and was called on it by the TV Squad commenters. Anyone that saw the show knows that it wasn't exactly appointment television, so I should have guessed that a lot of people had recorded it. Anyway, Kurifurisan had this to say: "Brett NO Love! Come on....it's not your first day." The funny part, it was, in fact, my first day.
If you were only able to watch one show, what would it be?
That's a tough question. Far and away, the show that I was nuttiest about was Firefly. I was a member of the Prospero board before the show started and moved on to FFF.net later. I even had my own Firefly site for a while, and I still count some of the folks I met through the show as close friends. I have fond memories of sitting in IRC waiting for the unaired episodes to make it to the internet. And before there was a DVD set, I made my own home-crafted VCD set. That being said, as great as Firefly is, there is only the one, all too short, season, and that would get old after a while. So, I'm going with the pragmatic answer and picking General Hospital. It's no Firefly, but if they stopped making it tomorrow, I'd still have 45 years of episodes to catch up on.
Most overrated and underrated TV show (current or past)?
Underrated: Beggars and Choosers (Showtime, 1999-2001). This one is still at the top of my most wanted DVD set list. It was, at one time, scheduled for release in January 2006, but that never came to be. For those that missed it, the show followed the exploits of the staff at a low-rated television network. Brian Kerwin (Big Love) starred as network president Rob Malone and he always had more fires to put out than firefighters to throw at them. Crazed show runners, the Russian mafia, network espionage, a daughter dating an actor far too old for her, and a transexual that puts the crazy old owner of the network in a coma. The show also featured Keegan Connor Tracy (Jake 2.0), Charlotte Ross (NYPD Blue), Christina Hendricks (Firefly), and Tuc Watkins (Desperate Housewives). Unfortunately, it came before Showtime started to get a lot of big press for their originals, and before everything seemingly started getting a DVD release.
Overrated: At the risk of being yelled at, I Love Lucy. I'm not saying it's a bad show, but it seems that whenever anyone does a Greatest Shows list, that one finds its way into the top five. And I just don't see it. It's certainly an important point in television history, but top five of all time? I don't think it holds up to that level.
Best benefit of writing for TV Squad?
Oh, it has to be my So You Think You Can Dance gym bag! Seriously though, the coolest benefit is probably getting a look at the pilots.
Where else can we see you on the web?
I do have a personal blog that has entries going back to 2003, but I'm loathe to link it here because it's not the most family friendly place on the internet. There are boobs, and the language probably isn't appropriate, unless you count yourself as a drunken sailor. I once managed five f-bombs in a post title. If, for some reason you really want to see it, I'll leave the hint that the site is powered by Habari. There aren't a lot of those out there yet, so Google is your friend.

Where's the love, Brett? Not a single word from you? It's not like you haven't been around doing other reviews, unlike some of the other bloggers that haven't been reviewing ANYTHING....you're out there doing DWTS and not Supernatural?? At least come out and say you're not doing it anymore so all us rabid fans can go try and find something half as good as your reviews....probably impossible. :(
