There's not too much information on it just yet, but FOX has ordered six episodes of Anchorwoman, a new comedy that will mix both reality and scripted elements as it focuses on a super model who returns to Texas to become a TV anchorwoman, because, who wants to listen to an ugly woman report the news? Not me. In fact, I was once almost killed in a tornado because I refused to listen to the average-looking news woman telling me to seek shelter. I now have half a dead chicken embedded in my skull, I can't do basic math, and sometimes triangles make me cry, but I think it was worth it.
Where was I? Oh yeah, not much information, but I like the idea of mixing two genres together. I'll save judgment until more information pops up about the series, but the basic premise alone has me intrigued.
UPDATE: Thanks to reader C. Tracy for the link to this story, which gives more detail (darn Google News was no help at all). Anyway, the "anchorwoman" will be played by WWE's Lauren Jones, and will take place at an actual CBS station in Tyler, Texas with station talent and personnel "performing" alongside Jones.
The article comes from the Tyler Morning Telegraph, and appears to be a means of alleviating any apprehension the citizens of Tyler might have about how their town will be depicted. The article paraphrases president and general manager of KYTX CBS-19 Phil Hurley and producer Brian Gadinsky as saying the series is "100 percent reality," which is not, as you may notice, the same as the reality/scripted mix mentioned by the AP article I linked to above.

Lauren Jones, former WWE wrestling diva, will become an employee of local TV station KTYX for the filming of a reality comedy show to be aired by the Fox TV network.
A model and actress trying to make it as a television anchorwoman will be the subject of a reality television show filmed at a Tyler TV station.
On Tuesday, Phil Hurley, president and general manager of KYTX “CBS-19,” told the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce board the Fox Network had ordered six episodes of the comedy, “Anchorwoman,” to be shot at the CBS-19 studios.
Brian Gadinski, owner and president of The G Group in Hollywood and the first “American Idol” producer, is under contract to produce the six episodes.
Cameras will follow model and actress Lauren Jones through the ropes of learning what it takes to cut it in the television news business in a small to mid-size town.
“Anchorwoman” will not have a cast; the other “characters” will be CBS-19 personnel and people in Tyler and East Texas. Ms. Jones will become a CBS-19 employee, and members of the station’s news team appearing on the show will be monetarily compensated, Hurley confirmed.
A Jackson, Miss., native, Ms. Jones has appeared on the soap opera “Guiding Light,” and was cast as one of the new Barker’s Beauties on “The Price is Right.” She will also appear in “Spiderman 3.”

Maybe I'm the only one, but this entire concept reminds me of when Andrea Thompson left "NYPD Blue" so she could be a news anchor, first in Albuquerque and then with CNN's Headline News (back when, you know, it actually featured news headlines instead of Glenn Beck and Nancy Grace).
