*Spoilers from new episode ahead*
There's a long history of 24's CTU agents being accused of traitorous behavior, of being taken into custody and tortured because the panicked higher-ups think they've been up to no good. So before we muse on whether this season's selected CTU analyst -- Nadia Yassir -- is being unfairly detained, let's review what's been done in past seasons:
During Jack Bauer's first very bad day, CTU analyst Jamey Farrell was accused of collaborating with terrorists. After being brusquely questioned, she was found dead in a CTU interrogation room. Jamey did admit taking money from a bad guy in exchange for intel, but the single mom said it was purely about getting money to help raise her son. CTU agent Nina Myers was the true CTU turncoat, and framed Jamey by killing her and making it look like a suicide.
In season two, Michelle Dessler, who was clandestinely helping Jack Bauer (much like Chloe O'Brian does now, in flagrant violation of direct orders), was detained by CTU officials, along with her soon-to-be boyfriend Tony Almeida, though they weren't tortured.
In season three, CTU analyst Gael Ortega bound and gagged Kim Bauer (and fans cheered) in order to prevent Kim from figuring out what he was doing in the IT room, where he appeared to be aiding a Mexican drug lord. After Gael was tortured in a CTU holding room, Tony intervened, saying Gael was secretly working undercover to help Jack and Tony.
In season five, Audrey Raines, Jack's lover, was taken into custody and tortured at the behest of current National Security Advisor Karen Hayes who believed Audrey knew more about a terrorist with whom she'd had a previous relationship than she was saying.
So, with those examples in mind, do you think the whole Nadia story -- that she was helping this season's terrorists detonate nuclear bombs on American soil -- is just a ruse and that it's going to wind up being a lesson about the pitfalls of racial and ethnic profiling?

Somehow I think it's going to be the latter (lesson about racial profiling). My guess is that the real culprit is one of Chloe, Milo or Drillbit O'Brian. The other possibility is that Doyle was setting her up so he could beat on someone, as he apparently did so well back in Denver.

Don't forget in 2004 that one CTU agent that was tortured only for them to later find out it was Aisha Taylors character that was the real mole.
I'm guessing it's a red herring, but who knows. Maybe the writers know that they used it so much that this time they will try to mix it up a little.

Yes, Nadia is a Red Herring. EVERYTHING THIS YEAR IS A RED HERRING! It's a gigantic ruse by the Wayne Palmer administration and CTU to entrap the Patriots, the primary evil-doers of the series. I'm pretty sure that Milo and Nadia are romantically involved and pretending to be "moles" as part of the scheme.
