I'm starting to run out of headlines, but here's a little more pilot casting news, via the Hollywood Reporter:
Dean Cain and Tamala Jones will both star in the CBS drama pilot Protect and Serve. Dean plays a veteran cop in this drama about street officers in Los Angeles.
Polly Walker (Rome) has joined the untitled CBS drama pilot from Cynthia Cidre. The series will focus on two powerful and feuding Latin American families: the Duques and the Samuels. Walker plays the head of the Samuel family
Paige Turco and Jessica Collins have both been added to an untitled drama pilot from Jon Feldman for ABC. The pilot features Dylan McDermott, Michael Vartan, Christopher Titus and Joshua Malina as powerful CEOs (or almost CEOs). Turco will play McDermott's ex-wife, and Collins will play Malina's mistress.
Raquel Welch has joined the CBS comedy pilot The Captain. She'll play a former TV star in this pilot about an apartment building in Hollywood also occupied by two writers, played by Fran Kranz and Jeffrey Tambor.
The FOX comedy pilot Playing Chicken recently added Jake Busey to the cast. Do you find total paralysis hysterical? You will after you watch this pilot about two brothers, one of whom is paralyzed in an accident. At least, I imagine that's how FOX is pitching the show. It sounds just twisted enough to be worth checking out.
JD Walsh and Josh Meyers have joined an untitled comedy pilot for CBS Scott Silveri. The pilot will focus on a group of friends who hang out at an all-night grill. On the surface, that sounds an awful lot like Friends, but with a grill in place of a coffee shop. I'll admit I'm passing judgment without having actually seen it, but since Silveri was also a writer and producer for Friends, I don't think my forecast is too far off.
Tim Russ and Melissa McCarthy have joined the comedy pilot Sam I Am (ABC), starring Christina Applegate, about a woman stricken with amnesia who has to piece her life back together. Russ will play the doorman at Applegate's apartment building, and McCarthy will play one of Applegate's old friends.
Sean O'Bryan has been cast in the comedy pilot Two Families for FOX. Beau Bridges also stars as the father in this pilot about two sets of siblings.
