"President Bush: ¿Dónde Está?": Bush toured Latin America to try and make some friends. And now, Mayan priests are ridding the air of what Bush left behind. Hmm.Senior New Correspondent Aasif Mandvi was recently made an official Senior Correspondent, as the "New" in his title suggests. Although I still haven't quite warmed up to him, having Mandvi on board may mean even less face-time for Rob Riggle, which is always good news. Anyway, Mandvi touched on the news that Halliburton is moving their CEO from Houston to... Dubai.
"TDS: Totally Doing Starbusiness": Baby edition! I loved the fast-paced entertainment show format. The only thing I loved more was how Samantha Bee used her own child, Piper Bee Jones. When Piper grows up, she's going to have to some lovely videos to look back on...
The night's guest was Senator Chris Dodd. He's a presidential candidate, so the interview was essentially a really long speech interrupted by one or two of Jon's snarky comments and a Geico joke.
Jon/Stephen: Stephen Colbert's Colbert Report Bloopers! Boy, is there egg on his face! Moment of Zen: "Forbes on FOX" and fair and balanced punk-ass pansies.

I love it when The Daily Show does a spoof of another style of television, such as the Starbusiness and Laguna Beach parodies.
I literally rolled out of my chair with laughter when I saw the mini-Jones sitting on the floor with a bottle of Vodka. Beautiful imagery.

I *love* Aasif Mandvi on this show. I don't think we'd seen him since December so I was worried he'd never come back. His first report (I think) was the one from Iraq ("It’s not like the President thought that the U.S. would be greeted as liberators or handed flowers, I mean he’s not retarded.") was absolutely awesome. And he frequently goes a little across the line into territory that loses the audience (like last night's "welcomed him with open boys" line), which for some reason is always the stuff that cracks me up the most.

Aasif Mandvi was on a few episodes of Jericho, but I don't think he's been in any since Jericho came back from hiatus.

Yeah, I just don't find Samantha Bee's bits funny anymore. Sure some of her older stuff had some chucklers but for the most part it just comes off as forced and she's kind of annoying as well. I know she gives a lot of effort and uses her kid and marriage... like Jason Jones but it just doesn't click half the time. And what the hell was with this piece, first off the the whole entertainment news piece has been done before, the rest of her bit was a bunch of stale Asian stereotype jokes... god it sounded like Carlos Mencia in a suit! I can't believe they let her take over this week in God. I think Bakkedahl might have been better, his Time Piece on Friday was hilarious. Meanwhile it's always big ups Jesus this and rambling on that. I think she should had her baby and taken a leave. And get some fresh faced female blood in there! There are a ton of choices out there. I mean I know they're incorporating more people but still the influx of younger blood could be a lot more stronger than what we are seeing!
