30 Rock, the Tina Fey/Alec Baldwin Thursday night comedy on NBC, was supposed to leave the air for a month to make room for Andy Richter's new sitcom, Andy Barker, P.I. But NBC has just announced that the show is actually coming back a little early, on April 5, to be part of a new "Super-Size" night of comedies on the network. It also announced that starting March April 12, 30 Rock will switch places with Scrubs, airing at 9 with Scrubs moving to 9:30.
Hmmm...the first six episodes of Andy Barker, P.I. are already online, and that might be all that we'll see from the show. As TV Barn notes, one of the episodes is an "online only" episode, which means that only five episodes will be shown on TV. I think that all of this news, plus the fact that Andy Richter's shows never seem to last long, means that we won't see much of the show after these five episodes are shown.
It seems to me that NBC is kinda messed up right now and aren't sure what the hell to do with a lot of their shows.

That bites! I REALLY like his show. It is WAY better than The Winner.
Sadly, if you check in the comments for the Post "First Six Episodes of Andy Barker, P.I. are Free Online" you will see that I can see the future....be afraid, be very afraid....:)

Hooray! I knew it wouldn't be gone long. 30 Rock is in the same highly-loved frame of mind I share with The Office and Heroes, both NBC hits this season.
And agreed on "The Winner". I was kinda hoping for that one to be good, but it was just terrible.

I've tried to get into 30 Rock. It's not consistently funny, and I find the whole premise rather unwatchable.
As far as Andy Richter's new show-- as soon as it was announced that all episodes were available on the web, I knew something was amiss. You don't dump an entire show onto the internet before it has appeared. Maybe the first show, but not the entire series.
NBC being messed is right.
I can't believe they greenlit the Black Donnellys, or even thought pairing it with Hereos was a good idea.
The only shows on NBC worth watching in my opinion are Hereos and the Office.

Watching mold spread on your wallpaper is more interesting than "The Winner".
Although I like Rob Corddry (though not as much as Nathan), "The Winner" is totally unbearable. It physically hurts me. It's so bad I want to pull my eyeballs out.
But it is not as bad as "Bones" (for me at least) because "Bones" expects me to have the IQ of a grapefruit. "The Winner" at least expects me to be dumb.

Scrubs has to have the record for the most moved show ever. How many times is this? 10, 15?

Real shame, because Andy Barker is one of the funniest shows that I've seen since Arrested Development.

The networks seem to be in a race to see who can cancel shows the fastest...

Sure. They're cancelling a lot of shows and seem to have lost their minds, but they did get one right when they bombed "Studio 60". Damn what a stinker that show is/was.

Uncancel AD and stop with the pilots. There, I've fixed television.

They obviously never had any faith in Andy Barker. I didn't love it, but I liked the stories, and given time to flesh out the characters and all that, it could've been really good. Still, I've enjoyed every 30 Rock episode more than a rest, so I'm glad to see it get a better lead-in (I love Scrubs, but 30 Rock is more likely to catch on with the Office coming before it).

I'm confused. 30 Rock is coming back on April 5? But it's switching time slots with Scrubs on March 12 (last night)? Do you mean April?
30 Rock is the best new show on television -- it's everything Studio 60 wasn't. (Read: funny.)

ITA with Bill. 30 Rock is one of the most clever shows on television, and if you don't find it "consistently funny", well that's your problem. I never stop laughing! I'm glad it'll have a lead in like the Office. Although I love scrubs too, maybe this will really help 30 rock!

All 5 episodes of Andy Barker are still airing. A super-sized episode on April 5 and the final episode of the season on April 12 in place of Scrubs.
