If Pat Nixon were a dog

pat nixonI think The Onion had it right: The Dana Carvey Show, which was canceled in 1996 after a whopping six episodes, was ahead of its time and too surreal for folks used to Saturday Night Live, but it also offered, for many, a first glance at writers and actors who eventually helped define today's reigning style of comedy: Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Louis C.K., Dino Stamatopoulos, Dave Chappelle and Charlie Kaufman.

Below I've placed a clip from the show of Heather Morgan doing a series of impressions of first ladies as dogs. Why is she doing that? All I can say is that if you have to ask, you'll never know. I think my favorite is Mary Todd Lincoln, who was already a tad nutty to begin with.

I had never heard of Morgan, so I looked her up on IMDb where her last credit is a 2002 movie called Bark! in which she plays a woman who behaves like a dog (she also wrote the screenplay). Apparently, she likes playing dogs. I guess you stick to what you know.
