Why Rosie is right; House is Dave Matthews' acting home

Dave Matthews makes his debut on HouseMaybe you or someone you know is going through a midlife crisis. In the Dave Matthews song Ants Marching, he describes the monotony of daily routine. Even us bloggers feel like throwing our keyboards into the Pacific Ocean, find a job tending bar along the coast and take lunch breaks snorkeling with the fishes.

It never occurred to me that even multi-platinum selling artists might tire of their day jobs. Could this be the case with Dave Matthews? Maybe boredom with his multi-million dollar touring business motivated his television acting debut on last night's episode of House. Forget the fact that he has his own traveling caterer that beats any Craft services table, I can understand him seeking refuge from his music circus for the calmer realm of television acting.

Many have mentioned that Jennifer Hudson should not have received her Oscar for acting like a singer, because it isn't really acting per se. If you'd seen last night's episode the same can be claimed for Dave, who's role called for a musical savant who plays the piano vis-a-vis a hand accident that happened to him when he was ten. The only way to save him from his hand affliction is to take away the piano playing abilities he acquired. In this TV's Top 5! clip we watch as House and Dave's character Patrick boogie down on the keys.

I say bravo for Dave who is stepping out of his comfort zone into a new craft. He isn't half bad after all. Even if it is a over zealous agent that brought him into his acting debut, I think we were all thankful for the episode.

On another issue, there is finally something that we can agree with Rosie about. On yesterday's episode of The View, she discusses the difference between Antonella Barba and Frenchie Davis' internet pictures and why the decision to keep Antonella in the competition is both "weightest and weicist". Check the clip out. It's hard not to agree with Rosie, and hooray for the small act of personal redemption.
