I don't like Dane Cook's brand of comedy, but hey, I don't have to like everything. There are plenty of other comedians more suited to my palate on the comedy salad bar, so while I personally feel his "material" is all delivery and no punchline, it doesn't mean other people can't enjoy him with croutons.
CC Insider points to a funny satirical piece from The Onion about Cook's new HBO special, Burgasm, in which the young comedian riffs on Burger King's Texas Double Whopper for a full hour. In the article, Cook explains his plans for the special:
You can expect me to pace some, then squat, then probably growl like I'm hungry, and say 'Huuuungry!' And to really hit it home, I'll climb up on the stool, howl, kick the stool over, and dive to the ground and do the worm. It looks totally spontaneous, but it's all carefully choreographed, and that's the beauty of it.
And yeah, the piece is from last month, but aside from the A.V. Club section, I don't read The Onion much anymore.

There's a great audio clip of how he stole a bunch of jokes directly from Louis C.K. :

You don't have to read the onion, you can get the podcast and just listen for a quick minute a day. It's great to hear Doyle Redlin (or however you spell it) reading the stories as if they were legit.

dane cook is not funny in the slightest sense of the word.
he lacks good material...has a horrible stolen delivery (much of which he has taken from comedians from the mid- to late-eighties and early
nineties...i.e. brian regan[sp], sam kineson)....why is it that no-talent hacks like this sad excuse for a clown/meat sack, get hbo
specials and series and paid tons of money?
while comedians like zach galiafinakis and brian posehn are left doing hilarious shows on cable networks or network television that get canceled, when they have original material and are truly talented and funny?
the world is not a fair place and douchebags with mediocre talent, at best, are celebrated here!
