Monday nights at 9 has become one of the major time slots on the networks these days. On NBC you have the megahit Heroes. Over on CBS there's the comedy smash Two and a Half Men, and FOX has 24. What do you watch?
The Los Angeles Times has a piece about the battle for viewers in the time slot, and they say that over 45 million people are watching the three shows at that time. The paper wonders if one of the networks will blink next season and move one of the shows to let it breathe a little bit. Though no one is planning that as of yet.
I watch Heroes. I never got into 24 (I was watching Alias a few years ago and didn't want to get involved in another spy drama), and Two and a Half Men hasn't interested me at all this season (I'm sure it's more Heroes being in that time slot than anything else).
Oh, and USA has Monday Night RAW, which is usually the number one show on cable.

This item asks the same, increasingly irrelevant question that NBC asked in a recent survey.
I don't watch *anything* at 9 p.m. on Mondays. At least not specifically at that time. I watch programming on my DVR (sorry, beloved TiVo, but the lousy Comcast box was HD and free) whenever it's convenient for me.
I'm not trying to be a smart-aleck, but this is a key shift in the way people are watching TV, and it's only going to accelerate. "Winning the time-slot" may soon sound very old-fashioned.

I personally can't stand any of the "major" offerings at 9. I watch "Digging for the Truth" on the History Channel every monday at 9.
I usually then watch CSI Miami at 10.

Embarrassingly enough, "I Love New York" was my 9pm programming.

yeah, the question for me has become "which do I watch LIVE (or near-live) and which do I watch later on DVR".
For the past couple weeks, I start watching Heros at about 9:20, so I can skip all the commercials and "catch up" to the live airing around 10:00 when it goes off. Then if I feel like it, I'll watch 24, straight through with no commercials, or maybe I'll wait 'till Tuesday night to watch it.
Previously, i was watching 24 first, then heros later, but that has changed in the last month as 24 has lost my attention and Heros has gained it.

I'm afraid that if I don't watch 24, then Jack Bauer will torture me in my sleep.
Of course, I did watch 24, and he still did it anyways....

I've started to actually hate Mondays! I let my DVR do the heavy lifting and record Heroes and 24 while I watch Two and a Half Men live. I've learned the hard way that if I watch either of the other shows and then try to go to bed, I'm so pumped up that sleep never happens! So I avoid all spoilers until I get home at 6pm and then catch up!

For a long time, it was always Monday Night Football on ABC that dominated the 9 pm slot in the fall. But declining ratings in recent years forced it off ABC at the end of 2005. It didn't feel the same on ESPN last fall, not the same essence. But I like this rebound with Two and a Half Men and Heroes competing for viewers. And I remembered watching RAW on USA, but it doesn't excite me anymore--not very challenging matches.

RAW just like every week.
Oh, my bad, that's too low brow to get a real mention despite the fact that more people watch it than anything else.

I try to watch Heroes first and record 24 to watch after, i find that 24 has more filler episodes that don't have the same urgency to watch right away. After those two, I catch up on Studio 60/Black Donnellys, and then Daily Show. Monday nights are chock full of TV.

I agree with Tim (2), DVRs have changed the way a lot of people watch television, myself included.

The only reason I still watch 24 at all is because of my DVR. I started watching Heroes at the very beginning, and once I realized that it would be up against 24, I knew 24 would take a backseat. 24 is now Tuesday night TV for me.
Also, as far as the topic of moving one of the shows... everyone is too afraid to go against American Idol when it's on, so the slots are limited. I'd be glad to have something else on during American Idol. It's bad enough that House has to be booted all the time.
It sounds a bit exaggerated, but American Idol is really hurting TV for the nights it is on. I understand that a lot of people love the show, but for those of us who don't like it... we're stuck with Lost at 10 instead of 9 and nothing else worth watching (at least in my opinion). Again, good thing I can carry 24 over with me to Tuesday nights.

I don't watch any program aired at 9 on Monday. I use that hour to view either Prison Break or How I Met Your Mother/The Class depending on which I watched live the previous hour. After that, the TV is off.

I watched Heroes, but next week I'll be watching watching 24 if I can get caught up on the 2 episodes I have missed.

I watched 24. Only because of my loyalty to Jack, i've seen watching 24 for the past 6 seasons, so that's why i watch 24 live instead of Heroes. But i downloaded the Heroes episode that aired here in Canada Sunday night. So i was able to watch Prison Break, 24 and Heroes one after the other!
Stupid Black Donnellys, because of that show we're not getting our kick ass Global Canada line up of Prison Break, Heroes and 24 from 8 to 11!
Now it's PB,24 and Black Donnellys! BOOO! :P

TIVO BABY TIVO! I usually watch a previously TIVO'd show from 8:30p - 9:15p, and I watch 24 and Heroes back to back and I usually switch which one I watch first every week. The best part is because I let the recording get ahead of me about 20 minutes by watching that other show at 8:30p... I never have to watch commercials!
LONG LIVE TIVO!

Couldn't agree with you more Tim. TV is changing, and ranting systems have to change with it.
BTW, I heard that Dancing with the Stars (never watched the show but I've heard it it very popular) will also air on Monday's at 9 PM. Crazy.
