Excellent news for Gilmore and Six Feet Under fans. Lauren Ambrose, Six Feet's Claire, has been cast in Amy Sherman-Palladino's upcoming project The Return of Jezebel James as Parker Posey's younger sister. The pilot focuses on juvenile lit publisher Parker Posey and her relationship with her estranged sister. (Jezebel James is the name of the publishing house's popular franchise for pre-adolescent girls.) This is pitch perfect casting. Having read the script, I can tell you that Lauren's character is essentially the person you'd expect Six Feet Under's Claire to be after a couple of years in New York with less chemical experimentation perhaps, but the same amount of artistic ennui. You'll also be happy to know that the pilot episode is pure Amy Sherman-Palladino. She's back in the game with a script that reads like the best Gilmore episodes against an urban backdrop. It's quick-witted, modern and now perfectly cast.
[Thanks to Lauren R. for the tip.]

I am certainly glad to see Lauren Ambrose again, she is a beauty to watch in all the sense of the word, but I never got into Gilmore Girls and don't think much at all about Posey. Hmmm...
I'll give it a go, basic treatment (3 episodes) but I hope it won't be as annoying as Gilmore Girls.

That's GREAT news!! I'll give any show a go with Lauren Ambrose in it.
I didn't see SFU when it originally aired, but I'm hooked on the reruns on Bravo.

Well I am extremely loathe to commit to another Sherman-Palladino production. Sure, she'll start off all witty and banter-y but then she'll go wacko, make her characters do out of character things, and leave a mess. Fool me once, Amy, shame on you. Fool me twice...no way.
And I think we can fairly predict where this plot will go. Parker Posey character=Lorelai, Lauren Ambrose character=Rory...

I haven't been this happy about casting news in a while. I've loved Lauren Ambrose since Can't Hardly Wait and in my eyes Amy can do no wrong (except maybe leaving her show to Rosenthal.)
