The New York Post just posted an interview with Jorge Garcia, in which the Lost star reveals a few details about his upcoming flashback episode. "Tricia Tanaka is Dead" will be the first Hurley-centric episode since Season Two's "Dave." Garcia shared the following information about the episode:
- The actor is trying to not to worry about the show's relatively poor ratings.
- He believes that no lone factor is to blame for the ratings decline. The show's new time slot and division of the cast have been highlighted by critics.
- Garcia's flashback episode features Cheech Marin as Hurley's father.
-
He has enjoyed having more of the cast members together on the same set. Leads Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, and Josh Holloway have been separated from the beach residents for most of Season Three.
-
The daddy issues trend will continue, as the "Tricia Tanaka is Dead" episode focuses on Hurley's relationship with his father, and how Hurley's lottery winnings altered that relationship.
-
As with "Dave," a familiar image from Hurley's past will lead him to remember an important part of his pre-crash life.
-
Cast members were initially told to pretend that they knew about future plot developments, but now they can own up to being just as clueless as fans.
"Tricia Tanaka Is Dead" airs this Wednesday at 10pm ET.

"When we first came on, we were instructed to say that we knew where it was all going, but as it kept going, we were allowed to say that we have no idea. I think about a dozen people actually know."
It's actually kind of surprising that cast members were deliberately instructed to lie about knowing where the story was headed, in order to give the impression that it actually was headed somewhere. In retrospect, though, that makes sense. Yes, the writers have a broad idea of what's going on and what they want to happen, but the impression they originally gave -- that the events and mysteries in the show will eventually fit together and all make sense in a way that will be satisfying to viewers -- can now be seen as nothing more than a big fat scam.

Ted it's a coverup.
Before the creators wanted to make it look like they had a plan so the actors were told to ly. Now everyone knows there is no plan so the actors were told they can say what they want.

Garcia needs to get a gastric bypass or he's going to be dead in 10 years.

Ted, are you _still_ trolling Lost posts looking to vent your frustration? Wow. Sad. You must have given up on Lost seven or so times by now. Keep up the great work! Pretty soon, you can call yourself a real journalist.

Ted, that doesn't make sense. I'm here reading comments because I still love Lost. Me reading comments on a Lost post is not the same as you [who over and over bemoan how you're over Lost].

I'm sharing an opinion about a show watched by millions of people, on a message board that was put here for that exact purpose.
You seem to have decided to use that same board to comment on me, personally. And while I guess maybe that's supposed to be flattering, it's really pretty creepy.
