Studio 60 is my families favorite show on both coasts. Everyone I know tivo's it. Hope it comes back. I already am not interested in another dark "wannabe" crime brothers show. How many crime and medical dramas do we need or unfunny canned laughter sitcoms?

Nowing NBC, when Black Donnelys fails, and it will, they'll just guve us another law and order.
If they do cancel s60, I just hope they put the unseen eps. on the website for the fans. But they'd be smart to move it to a new night with a more appropriate lead-in show. But they won't.
Hope someone buys it from them. Maybe the CW network will want to try it.

That's the one thing Curt that really pisses me off about NBC. They desided to move FNL to a different timeslot, maybe not better, but they still leave Studio 60 behind a terrible (for Studio 60) lead in show. They go "Studio 60 and FNL are blah blah and we want to keep them, blah blah and we will do everything we can. That's a ly. Studio 60 should have been moved when it took it's Christmas break. That way they could have at least tried something different.
There is almost no way in hell that Studio 60 will get a second season.

So does anyone have even the tiniest clue as to WHY the "Powers-that-be" at NBC are replacing Studio 60, which is an intelligent, upbeat comedy with yet another no-brainer that is supposed to appeal to the young gangsta' wannabe viewing audience? Shades of "West Wing"........shame on NBC.....the promo's for The Black Donnellys aren't even interesting.....tsk..tsk..tsk...

The difference between Star Trek and Studio 60 besides the fact that Star Trek was an important satire and Studio 60 is a shity overdone show that people like to claim is smart when it's really not.
Anyways Star Trek had a fanbase of millions and lived on for 40 years. Studio 60 won't live to see a 4th year and in 4 years few will even remember it except for the fact it's Sorkins worst work.

Another idiot. But Star Trek WAS cancelled by NBC after it's 2nd season due to lack of ratings. And after a massive letter campaign by the FEW fans that were watching it, NBC reversed its decision, bringing a third season.
That's why I brough it up. As for you wasting the time to leave another stupid comment about that S60 sucks just shows what kind of person you are. And how is S60 "overdone?" I don't see another show on TV quite like it, what with good dialogue, good acting and good characters, albeit maybe not perfect.
And Star Trek: TOS was hardly "important." it was a campy piece of garbage that occasional had some underlying themes that vaguely resembled real world events. And it didn't last 40 years. It lasted 3. It's only got overzealous fans to thank for keeping it on life support for so long...

Here here, David! I agree whole-heartedly. Studio 60 is wannabe-smart self-indulgent "aren't we important tackling big social issues while still looking cool and more enlightened than everyone else" TV. It's boring crap! And those of you who say it isn't have been suckered into it. Liking this show, you believe, makes YOU smarter and more hip and relevant. You’ve been lulled into believing the hype... that this is the show smart people watch. You're wrong. You've wiffed the Sorkin fumes and believe you're watching TV that matters. You're not.
Peet is a joke on that show (and in most everything she's done). Perry? A guy lucky enough to have scored a hit show in the past, so now everything he does afterward is considered well-acted and "brilliant". Weber and Bradley (whatever that former West Wing pansy's name is) suck horribly. Worst of all is that lispy blonde tart who is so unbelievable in and unsuited for the part she plays.
This show might be, at its core, a great concept, but for the reasons cited above with casting, coupled w/ Sorkin's preachy "Mr. Enlightenment" style, it's dead and tagged DNR (Do Not Resuscitate). 30 Rock does this concept so much better… and with less contrite and wholly unbelievable dialogue.
Heroes a bad lead in? My arse! Plenty of struggling shows would kill for that lead in, and benefit hugely from it. The fact that Studio 60 still flounders w/ Heroes in front is an even bigger testament to how much it tanks.
This show blows! Good riddance and all hail The Black Donnellys!
Call the NBC switchboard Monday night. I'm sure all 12 of you can create quite the flurry of concern.

hey john (#10),
here's a clue: some people like to watch tv shows without caring who else watches them and what category it puts them in. someone saying they thought the show was smart means they liked it, not thing more. it's hysterical to see people so obsessed with television they actually think the way you do.
studio 60 was about the only show that intelligent people who normally wouldn't waste their time on tv actually bothered to watch. it's not perfect, but it's a hell of a lot less annoying to watch than most of the other brainless formulaic garbage out there.
ahwell, c'est la vie. short sighted network execs aren't exactly a new concept.

Is it really any wonder that NBC is no longer the #1 station any longer? I'm surprised they have managed not to screw up Heroes. I loved studio 60, but I would be surprised if they could convince so many talented actors (not to mention that they are "stars": Mathew Perry, Amanda Peet, and don't forget D.L. Hugely just to mention a few) to return after being dismissed so rudely. Let's face it NBC will have to grovel to get this show back.
