The four original members of the Upright Citizens Brigade - Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts, Matt Besser and Matt Walsh - are reuniting to tape their signature ASSSSCAT improv show for a DVD release by Shout! Factory. Other early UCB-ers are expected to participate, including Chad Carter, Sean Conroy, Andrew Daly and Horatio Sanz. If you live outside of New York or Los Angeles, you may remember Comedy Central's televised version of UCB from their 1998 to 2000 run. Maybe this will jog your memory:"From the dawn of civilization, they have existed in order to undermine it. Our only enemy is the status quo. Our only friend is chaos. They have no government ties and unlimited resources. If something goes wrong, we are the cause. Every corner of the earth is under their surveillance. If you do it, we see it. Always. We believe the powerful should be made less powerful. We have heard the voice of society, begging us to destabilize it. Antoine. Colby. Trotter. Adair. We are the Upright Citizens Brigade."
UCB began as a Chicago-based sketch troupe that grew out of 1990's ImprovOlympic. In 1997, they moved to New York, and soon after, opened an actual brick-and-mortar theater in a former nude dance club. In 2005, they opened an LA outlet. Since that time, comedy greatness has ensued. They also never charge more than $8 or so for a ticket. God bless them.
If you live in Los Angeles, you can attend the taping. For details, visit UCB's LA site.

That's good to know, but for about two seconds you had me really excited thinking Comedy Central was finally going to release seasons two and three of the show.

They need to do it now while Amy is still on SNL and try to capitalize on that. It's a perfect chance.
Of course, I still don't get why they didn't just do a complete series set to begin with. It was only 30 episodes, at most 6 discs.
