If we are to believe every rumor we hear in Hollywood, then every guy is the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby, and every girl wants Paula Abdul's cushy Idol judging job. Move over Courtney and Belinda. This week it's Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham who is hoping for Paula's dismissal. According to this exclusive, replacing Paula with Posh is the brainchild of Beckham's manager, Simon Fuller, who also serves as Idol's Executive Producer.
But Paula is not going anywhere as long Simon Cowell remains on her side. Victoria's bid for a spot on the high-profile TV juggernaut was apparently blocked by Cowell.
One source said, "He's being loyal to Paula but, more importantly, fears two Brits on the panel will reduce interest in the show and sabotage ratings."
Of all the Spice Girls, Posh was always my least favorite. And it truly boggles my American mind that anyone is fascinated with her. Did you ever notice that she looks like a wax figurine in every photo she takes? To me, she is plastic without a personality.Paula may have her problems, but I prefer her to anything Posh. What do you think?

I say bring in Britney. She's more talented than Paula and crazier, too. Who wouldn't watch that?

why would they want to replace Prozac Abdul with that no talent skeleton? At least Prozac hat a few hits on her own and did have some talent at some point. But Posh is so talentless what could should possibly offer to this show

Furthermore, Simon Cowell has a vendetta against the Spice Girls as the group in their "hey day" when they were managed by Simon Fuller sold more records than Simon Cowell's boy band group.

Simon Cowell had the common sense to pass on the Spice Girls when he auditioned them before they were famous. What makes anyone think he would respect her "talent" enough to make her an idol judge. She was part of a fabricated pop band. Paula Abdul may be a lot of things but she worked hard for her pop career.
American Idol is in its downward slope now. I don't think replacing Paula or Randy would do anything for the show. The problem is that they get too many repeat auditions from terrible singers and real singers seem to be avoiding the show because they don't want Idol to make their career. I've often wondered why more backup and session singers never stepped up to audition. We saw a small handful of them this season, but there are probably thousands of them in the US within the age limits of Idol who would be awesome to watch. They probably don't audition because they just don't respect idol.
Personally I'm bored with it. I would like to see a similar show in an older age range though. What makes them think that you have to be in your teens and twenties to be a breakout star. I'd like to see a show with contestants from 30-50 who are forced to sing a little bit of everything. I think it would be much more entertaining, especially if they didn't spend two weeks editing together reels of the worst auditions ever and only showed singers with promise.

DON'T REPLACE PAULA! Paula is fun to watch. She makes the show better. I don't know why there is talk of replacing her with anyone.

I love Paula. She cracks me up...Posh is so full of herself. And, honestly, I am not crazy about the Beckmans coming here believing that all of America would just fall at their feet. I could really care less what they do.

Simon Fuller is suppose to be a smart guy, so why on earth would he even consider replacing any of the judges when his ratings are so good? If you lose any of the judges (Paula, Simon and Randy) the show would be done. They are great at what they are doing. I know I wouldn't watch if one of them was replaced. There always seems to be talk about replacing Paula. She is the one they pick on all the time.
Courtney, Belinda and now Posh give me a break, I don't think anyone of them would be good for the show. Why mess with a good thing? People tune in to watch not only the performers but those three judges, PAULA, SIMON and RANDY. That is what half the fun of watching is.
And to those of you who think the show is on its way out...watch and see how many people phone in to vote. Those singers who don't want idol to make there career must not really want to make it big, or they don't need the money that they would get. Anyone serious about the business would take any means possible to break in. Not only do the winners come out a head but look at the top 3 - 5 performers from the show they all make it. Not only those top few performers and think back on other seasons. We still hear about some of the performers who made it to the top 12.
Here's to tonight and tomorrows performances. I can't wait. And then the results on thursday. Let's get going, bring on the singers!

I say keep Paula. Why change things around. I can't believe they would even think of picking someone else. If they changed anyone I don't think I would watch American Idol anymore. I get a kick out of each of the three judges. :-)

Paula and the panel are great and funny, Simon makes a person mad, but he tells it like it is. They would make a mistake to get rid of any of the panel they have now. Nan
