According to Reuters and the Hollywood Reporter, Kiele Sanchez may be the latest addition to the cast of Football Wives, the latest British television import. Sanchez is currently starring in the role of Nikki on Lost, although she has not made frequent appearances. This does not necessarily mean that Sanchez will be leaving the ABC drama, however. Reuters claims that the Football Wives role would be "in second position" to her work on Lost.
If negotiations go well, Sanchez will be playing an NFL player's pregnant wife, "a good-natured woman with a secret." Is there another kind? Football Wives centers on several women married to professional football players, similar to the British original Footballers' Wives, which focused on the wives of soccer players.
Episodes of the British series can be viewed on BBC America, and the American version would be set to air on ABC, which increases the likelihood of Sanchez being able to keep her Lost job. Other actors attached to the project (according to IMDb) include Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess, Battlestar Galactica) and Gabrielle Union (Bring it On).

Wait, wasn't "Footballer's Wives" a British copy of "Desperate Housewives"?

Enough with the "Americanization" of BBC shows.
Especially on "Family Friendly" Disnazi collaborator ABC....

Between the "Paolo and Nikki get their own flashback" comments from L&C, and Rodrigo Santoro's saying he's filming a death scene, and now this...
I'm rooting for a double Arzt, people. Twice the ka-boom! You'll never forget it! It'll be...iconic!

She's hot enough for me to completely accept her as part of Lost. Superficial? Yes indeed.

No, other way 'round. "Footballers' Wives" premiered in 2002. "Desperate Housewives" is more an "inspired by" than a copy.

Footballer's Wives is too racy for ABC, and yes, ABC already made a US version of the show, and it is Desperate Housewives.
I'm sure Nikki's gonna die soon on Lost, she shouldn't even be there in the first place.

That's what they said about Cynthia Watros last year.
