The decision to give 24's Jack Bauer a brother seemed ridiculous at first, the show's executive producer told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
And the notion's absurdity was heightened when producer Howard Gordon suggested to the writing staff that the Bauer brother be the sinister Bluetooth dude who'd been seen in the previous season ordering the president to commit various crimes.
Turning Paul McCrane's character into a Bauer was "probably a crazy, terrible idea," Gordon told the newspaper, however the 24 staff "decided it was too good to resist."
McCrane, aka Graem Bauer, told the newspaper: "I knew I'd only be on for a couple of episodes, so I assumed [Graem would] be killed. On that show, if you're only on for a short time, you're probably going to die."
As for upcoming 24 story lines, Gordon hinted to the Inquirer that viewers will soon be seeing President Charles Logan, who had to resign his office last season, because the current Palmer president will need Logan's help.

Damn, does this mean I actually have to start watching 24? I adore Paul McCrane, but because I don't care about 24 had no idea he was on it. Now, because I'm me and hate to jump in in the middle, I'll probaby be Netflixing the whole freakin' show.

Quetzalcoatl, no way has 24 jumped the shark. This is still the best show on TV. It maybe went from a 98 to a 95.

Jack Bauer jumped the sharks and killed them many times already. One more would not kill the show.

It's too bad we wont be seeing much more of Graem. Paul McCrane is a scene stealer. However, I don't think Graem is dead. My theory on this season is that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is what it appears to be. I'm begging the skeptical fans to withhold their "Jump the Shark" comments until this year is over. Please.

The show jumped the shark in Season 3. However, by re-inventing itself, it came back strong for season's 4 and 5. However, inbetween Jack conveniently having the most evil family EVER, Graem being a BauerBrother, the Walid/Sandra plotline, the fact that the DC plotline STILL only consist of 2-3 people, and the constant catfight between Morris and Milo? It's not been the strongest start to a season ever.
At least the "24" team admits that making Graem a Bauer was indeed a truely rideculous twist. :)

Okay, I'll say it:
"Jumped the shark" has jumped the shark.
The moment a show does something a blogger doesn't like, out comes the shark.
I've been hearing about the shark since Kim tussled with a cougar.
The shark is so over.

Yes this is the worst part of the show, and not the crazy super terrorists that blew up air force one a few seasons ago or the fact the President was a terrorist. yeah... right.
I'm glad they admited that 24 is overhyped shit they pull from their asses.
