The rumors have reached a fever pitch. Will Ben and Jerry's be producing a Stephen Colbert-inspired ice cream? Well, take a look at this. It's a packaging sample sent to Colbert fan site No Fact Zone by a Whole Foods corporate employee. Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream. Vanilla Ice Cream with Fudge Covered Vanilla Cone Pieces and a Caramel Swirl. Ben and Jerry's will neither confirm nor deny the partnership. However, they did tell Salon that "...there's been a lot of experimentation with red, white and blue."
So truthy, it's giving me brain freeze just thinking about it.

I think that is the same as Edy's Ice Dreamery Coney Island Waffle Cone combination. It is my FAVORITE. We'll see if Ben and Jerry's is as good!

Actually, it was sent to NoFactZone.net from a Whole Foods corporate employee, but I did get word from Ben & Jerry's that a flavor was in development (http://www.nofactzone.net/?p=893). And Salon also got a "coy" answer that essentially verified that it is in development.

You know when you have hit a cord with the American Zeitgeist when Ben & Jerry name an ice cream flavor after you. Congrats!

The pint says "Vanilla ice cream with fudge covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl" at the bottom. I don't know about you, but that seems mighty tasty.

Comment #2 mentioned: "but I did get word from Ben & Jerry's that a flavor was in development"
Well that's not very hard to say... seeing that a new flavor is ALWAYS in development. They have a team of people dedicated to the process.

Wait a second!
These are just rumors everyone.
We must be very careful with rumors on the Internet. As Colbert
would say, seek "truthiness" (the 2006 word of the year)
The company spokesperson, responding to the rumors, gave a HUGE
hint as to the flavor of the ice cream, but am I the only one who
got it IF there was one being created and named after Stephen
Colbert.

What are you talking about? Stephen Colbert is all about being exploited. He loves it. The more attention the better. He doesn't care if it's from 'a bunch of dirty liberal democrat hippies from Vermont!' or not.
And if you think Stephen Colbert is an actual right wing nut job...you should read the definition of political satire.

Ben & Jerry are a bunch of dirty liberal democrat hippies from Vermont! (or as I prefer to call it, Bizarro New Hampshire) I don't see Stephen Colbert allowing himself to be exploited this way, unless, of course, he gets a cut of the action!
