Sketch comedy troupe (and future stars of Fuse) Whitest Kids U Know are claiming that Budweiser stole one of their sketch ideas for a Super Bowl ad - specifically a sketch about how slapping is replacing bumping as the guy greeting du jour. Between How I Met Your Mother's "Slap Bet" episode and all the "slap fights" on YouTube, I'm not sure anyone gets to claim slapping as intellectual property. You can't stop the zeitgeist. Decide for yourself. You can check out both videos after the jump.

Was the Bud commerical funny? Cause this isn't. I can't imagine Bud would rip off a joke this lame and a skit this belabored. If they did, they're geniuses for seeing the potential for comedy in this dreck.

The answer to the question is No. No they did not rip it off. And I agree w/the comment above. Neither of them are funny.

Well, looks like there IS indeed a smoking gun. Just read about it on http://www.theapiary.org
On another note The Whitest Kids U' Know are absolutely hilarious. You can get a free mp3 from their new album here.

Um, though the group clearly lacks polish (the "belabored" comment certainly fits, as does the "these idiots don't know what a contraction is" one), the construction and timing are clearly top-notch.

Anything's possible. But who would take credit for such a lame skit? Oh, Nike stole my idea for making basketball sneakers. Where's my money?

Hey, the guys from 'The Whitest Kids U Know?'shouldn't be complaining considering they stole their entire marketing campaign from rivalBrooklyn based sketch comedy group, ITTV (it'stwisted television) http://www.myspace.com/itstwistedtv
Note, that the promotional shots for ITTV used (check photos to see what iam talking about) were created for their 3rd season, almost 2 yearsago!!
Its pretty lame, that with all the marketing budget a showpicked up by
Fuse must have at their hands they need to steal otherpeoples ideas to
be funny. Totally LAME!
I'm not going to watch it.

Actually, they didn't steal the idea from a Brooklyn based comedy show. Trevor (the main guy in TWKYN) did a previous sketch comedy show before The Whitest Kids. I think it was in Boston. In other words, he just took his previous idea, moved to New York for a bigger audience, and got the show on national tv by doing it.
If Twisted TV was so funny, why didn't it get picked up by FUSE??!
