Remember that marriage proposal commercial that was supposed to run during the Super Bowl last night? It didn't run.
Seems that CBS just didn't have space for it, or something. The guy was watching the game with his girlfriend and kept getting calls from the network saying they "might" put it in, but it turns out they couldn't. However, the guy came up with a plan B: he's going to tape a proposal at a local station this week and it will run during his girlfriend's favorite show, Veronica Mars.
I know, you're wondering, "how is he going to pay for that?" The ad is only going to run in his local market, which he can't name right now to keep things quiet.

I want to know how this guy's girlfriend is in the dark about it...
She *must* know it's coming.

After realizing that he was able to pay for it to be shown during the Super Bowl, no, I'm not wondering how he can afford showing it on some no-name local TV station.

Interesting coincidence. My local CBS station DID run a marriage proposal from some local yokel during the game. It was a cheap-looking CG rendering of a football stadium with pills for players (it was sponsored by a local pharmacy!), and on the scoreboard was "[whatever the hell her name was], will you marry me?" Later the same commercial ran, with "She said YES!" on the scoreboard.
Now it woulda been real interesting if JP's proposal had run after all -- talk about stealing someone else's thunder...
