(S01E11) Yes, the review is late. I'll apologize to each and every one of you individually. That should take a few years, and by that time you'll probably forget what I was apologizing about.

How do you connect speed dating with naked, fat guys found out in the middle of a field? I'm not too sure, but Psych did it and made it work quite well. Gosh, what a funny episode! I can't remember laughing out loud at this show so much as I did this time around.

The second half of Psych has seen a lot of changes. We've seen Shawn mature quite a bit, we've seen Lassiter mellow out, and we've even seen Henry Spencer going out on a date. This week we saw another change. This was probably one of the first episodes where all of the members of the ensemble cast were utilized. We've seen combinations on Gus and Shawn with one or two of the other players, but this week they all participated. Even Kristen Nelson was back as Interim Police Chief Karen Vick. With some of the attention off of Shawn and Gus, the show took on a different feel. The cast is really jelling together as a cohesive team.

I want to highlight a few of my favorite moments. The first is when Shawn and Gus meet Henry Spencer at the tanning salon. Actually there was a funnier moment preceding that meeting. It was when Gus told the tanning person that he wanted a tan. The look of utter confusion on the counter person's face was priceless. Anyway, back to the meeting with Henry. It seems that Shawn is learning about a whole other side of his father. At the tanning salon he scolds his father for using ex-foliant to peel away some access dead skin.

Later in the show, when he asks to borrow his Dad's house for the investigation, he finds out that Henry just came out of a bath filled with scented soaps. Shawn goes so far as to accuse his Dad of being a metrosexual. Of course, Henry denies this claim. I enjoy these scenes between Shawn and his father. They were very few and far between during the first half of the season, but they've picked up during the second half. I also enjoy Corbin Bernsen in his role of Henry Spencer. As I've mentioned before, he portrays the opposite of Arnie Becker, the character he portrayed on L.A. Law. Although, by bathing in gardenia-mango bath soaps he still has a bit of Arnie in him.

The other moment I enjoyed in this week's episode was the six-minute dating. The scenes with Lassiter were very amusing, especially the one where he begins grilling his date about her whereabouts the night before. Equally as funny was when he and Detective O'Hara are paired up. Lord, the awkward tension on the screen at that moment brought on a few chuckles. Oh, as a side note to the producers of Psych . . . Have more instances where Maggie Lawson is shown in street clothes with her hair down. She is just adorable.

As I've mentioned in previous reviews there have been a number of defining moments since Psych returned to the schedule, and tonight was no exception. With this week's episode we saw a real build of sexual tension between Detective O'Hara and Shawn. Even though he still defines himself as a player (or, is it spelled playah) he has a soft spot for Juliet, as seen when he notices her at the bowling alley and shows a bit of jealousy over her date. It's a cute little crush he has.

I have to mention Gus this time as well, since I left him out of last week's review. Here is another character who has grown. This is the second week in a row where Gus hooked up with a date. Granted, neither date went as planned, but at least he's getting some women now as opposed to Shawn being the babe magnet.

Another solid episode with a very good mystery. I had no idea who the culprits were until the reveal. I like to see more of those on Psych. That's all this time around. Brett is going to handle this week's review while I am away. See you in two weeks.
