Apparently, LG doesn't find the terms "personal video recorder" or "digital video recorder" to be descriptive or catchy enough. Never mind the fact that these are pretty much the industry standard terms. No, that's not good enough for LG. Instead, they've branded their line of HDTVs with PVR functions as "Time Machine" television. Great, because that's much more self explanatory.
Anyway, LG already announced a couple of sets in this line, including a 55-incher, and a TV/PC combo. Now they're adding 5 new TV sets, each with dual HD tuners, a 160GB hard drive, and USB 2.0 for attaching an external hard drive. The new models come in 50-inch and 60-inch plasma, or 37-inc, 42-inc, and 47-inch LCD varieties.
The new Time Machine TVs are set for a Korean launch first, with American versions to follow. Prices range from 2,500,000KRW ($2,650) to 8,900,000KRW ($9,435).

LG has already launched the "Time Machine" tv's in India.
PVR/DVR's have been around since 1999, does it make sense to have an applicance manufacturer(LG) to incorporate it into TVs?
Will the Indian market which is still nascent in the PVR sector take this well?
