Americanidol.com Three weeks into a new season, American Idol continues to dominate the television landscape. And it now looks like the phenomenon has its eyes set on dominating the internet, as well. The official American Idol website has become an increasingly popular destination for millions of steadfast fans. Visits have reportedly doubled since last year's season premiere.

Jeff King, vice president of Fox Interactive Media, stated: "Our goal has always been to make Americanidol.com the go-to site for millions and millions of American Idol fans-- extending the Idol experience into a 24/7 environment."

The site added a bunch of new features this year, including a music download store and a place where registered community members can share weekly recaps. Each week, one fan recap will be posted as the site's "official recap."
